Today we’re introducing our two dancers: Montana Summers (l) and Rob Polmann (r), pictured here during last years research visit to Syracuse. Next week, we will kick off the final week of rehearsals before setting sails to Terschelling for Oerol festival ⛵️

Nicole Beutler Projects & Rematriation present: ROOM IN OUR HOUSE

Two men meet. In their bodies lies their strength. Both dancers live in the here and now. Yet, they are connected by a complex colonial history. One is the child of survivors, the other the heir of oppressors. Two worlds that clash. Is peace possible?

In this time of crises ROOM IN OUR HOUSE brings a groundbreaking counternarrative. Michelle Schenandoah and Nicole Beutler invite the audience to explore each individual’s responsibility in peacemaking.

Afgelopen zondag was te gast bij in het NPO Radio 1 programma Een uur cultuur om te praten over zijn ‘hyperpersoonlijke’ solo vanishing acts, een bijzondere ontmoeting met Erwin Olaf en zijn toetreding tot het . Hij tipte onder andere De rustelozen van Olga Tokarczuk (boek), de podcast Heavyweight van Jonathan Goldstein en de 11e editie van (4-6 februari in ).

Voor FIRST MAN werkt Sadettin samen met regisseur en choreograaf Nicole Beutler. In deze video vertellen ze over hun samenwerking.

FIRST MAN gaat over familie, identiteit en thuis. We vroegen Nicole waar zij zich thuis voelt.

“Eigenlijk voel ik me nergens echt thuis.
Het is alsof ik me in een dimensie zonder landing beweeg.
Maar het gevoel van thuis kan ontstaan als ik met een glimlach in de armen word genomen,
als ik mijn dochter zie,
als ik de geur van het bos in Beieren ruik,
als ik de klank van mijn moedertaal hoor –
en, omdat ik als kind vijf jaar in Istanbul woonde,
ook als ik Turks gesproken hoor.”

CAST UPDATE 🌍 NOW WE ARE EARTH

This September, the role of Felix Schellekens will be taken over by and .

Catarina (rehearsal director for NOW WE ARE EARTH, ATMEN) and Rob (performer in ROOM IN OUR HOUSE, METAMORPHOSIS) are already part of the NBP family, and we’re thrilled to have them step in.

They’re in the studio right now, polishing the role before the tour kicks off this Monday at

Ondanks de hitte wisten de bezoekers van vorige week de weg te vinden naar het voorplein van  voor de open-air bewerking van de grote zaalvoorstelling NOW WE ARE EARTH / An Orchestra getiteld ARE WE EARTHLINGS. Het eindresultaat was ‘een fascinerende mix van bodyart en kunstzinnige acrobatiek, uitmondend in levende sculpturen’ volgens .nl
