New workshop alert 🚨 “SHOWS THE AUDIENCE ACTUALLY WANTS TO WATCH” by LIAM WEBBER

🙌 Narrative longform that resonates, start to finish

🙌 Great improv isn’t just about you and your scene partner — there’s a third element in every scene: the audience. Whether we admit it or not, their responses shape the choices we make: the fun games to play, characters to bring back, and which elements of the story to hone in on.

🙌 In this workshop we’ll stop treating them like passive observers and start making shows with them. In day one, we’ll focus on scenes – expect exercises to tune into the audience in the room and a push for bolder scenework to find the sparks in the moment. In day two, we’ll dive into what a great improv show feels like for an audience, and how we can keep that spark alive while telling a story they still care about by the time the lights go down.

Paul Berrocal is teaching the 2-day workshop “The Company Of Many”
(It’s already sold out)

Here’s more about him:

Paul Berrocal is a professional actor and improviser from Vevey Switzerland. Paul started performing as a child through music and circus arts. He then tried improvisation when he was a teenager, which led him to later quit university and go to theatre school instead. Since 2009, he has worked as an actor with different troupes, some of which he co-founded. Actively involved in improv circles, he also promotes this art as a powerful learning tool as well as a legit theatrical process.

The more he practises, the more he’s amazed by all the possibilities that this art offers. He’s a member of Cie Slalom, which creates improvised shows inspired by the work of famous authors (Molière, Shakespeare, Feydeau), Cie Georges Poutre which plays SAGA, an improvised anthology whose aesthetics change every season, Cie Les Grands Felins, which created the post-apocalyptical show Bunker. He has created, played or directed over 30 shows (improvised or text), and also starred in a dozen short-films.

In parallel, he has never stopped performing as a singer and guitar player with different bands, and solo as well.

Next up! This Thursday!

LAURA & GAEL SPECIAL
🕰️ SOMEWHERE IN TIME 🕰️

🕰️ Once a month, the two founders of Flock Theatre take the stage. With only 2 performers, they present epic scenes and heartfelt stories.

🕰️ For this night, Laura and Gael bring back Somewhere in Time, their new sci-fi romance show, inspired by the book This is how you lose the time war by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone.

🕰️ Two rivaling time traveling agents write each other letters. They follow assignments, alter history, bend space and time. Until eventually, they chase… Each other.

“Laura and Gael are two absolute masters of their craft.”
Kevin Gillese | Artistic Director, Dad’s Garage (Atlanta – USA)
“Laura and Gael are exceptional improvisers. They exude a tranquility on stage, a true openness to what presents itself in the moment.”
Maïder Dechamps — Journalist and theatre maker (Brussels – Belgium)

Jochem Meijer (together with Laura Doorneweerd-Perry) is teaching the 5 day workshop “NEXT STOP 400 KM” on June 23-27th ⛽️

Here’s more about him:

Jochem Meijer is an improviser from Amsterdam. He started improv in 1999, so he can and will say that he has over 2 centuries worth of experience. He has made it his work to teach various improv troupes, schools and companies within the Netherlands and Europe and he also plays in various specialized improv groups. In his free time, he is trying to insert his improv skills into the online gaming world. Ask him about it and he will explain in depth what that means (so beware).
He loves making people click with each other and focuses on getting the group to grow together. In his workshops, he focuses on learning through doing. So don’t expect to be sitting down for long discussions and be prepared to get moving and playing when you take a class with him!
