Enari Gallery

Enari is a brand new gallery in the city center of Amsterdam.

Founded by Paul van Gemen and Christina Voulgari, the gallery curates shows with a strong international focus, displaying both emerging and established artists.

‘Altar’ (The People’s Princess) by is on view as part of our new exhibition ‘Sweet Surrender.’

This triptych portrays princess Diana as a contemporary saint-like figure, using Beanie Babies as secular relics to explore how modern culture turns celebrities and consumer objects into vessels for belief, grief, hope, and longing.

Opening today! ‘Sweet Surrender,’ with Grace Lee (), Nicolina Morra () and Rebecca Storm ().

The exhibition explores themes of seduction, splendour, and the longing to embrace the unknown. The artists reflect on how images hold nostalgia, convey emotion and how meaning is constructed through what is felt as much as what is seen.

Opening: Friday, 29 May, 5–8pm

Cats and Dogs, 2026

Dogs dominated Lee’s work from 2015 to 2022, symbolizing loyalty but also feral instincts, and now form a backdrop as new subjects emerge. Cats, seen as guarded and the dog’s domestic foe, contrast with dogs who, like backing dancers, suggest both unity and conflict. The dogs’ leftward movement evokes the past resurfacing in the present, as revisiting old motifs can feel like reopening old wounds.

‘Condensed Gaze’ on view at the gallery, part of Minyoung Kim () solo exhibition ‘Whisper inside things.’

This artwork depicts one of Kim’s signature characters: a black cat that serves as the narrator and disrupts domestic order. Its electric-blue eyes convey an unsettling feeling, while its clawed paws press against the fogged glass, blurring the boundary between instinct and domestic space.

‘The Bite’ & “Fallen Flower’ by Minyoung Kim (), on view at the gallery, part of her solo exhibition ‘Whisper inside things.’

Kim depicts colourful everyday scenes, drawing on the still-life language of the old masters to explore emotion, memory, and dreams through a soft yet quietly unsettling visual language, with the black cat acting as a silent narrator between spontaneity and structure.
