as of today, more than fifty thousand Palestinian martyrs have been killed by the ongoing Israeli genocide on Gaza.

⚠️ Coding Against Genocide calls upon artists, coders, and everyone in between to gather this Saturday March 29th, at the .thehague (or online), and write a manifesto together.

How can creative coding resist genocidal culture? Which values and principles must we embody in our practice? What kind of actions can we take?

We are hosting a workshop at our studio today. and Marta García Díaz are initiating it to explore and debate the language of genocide, using code. From web crawling to Natural Language Processing (NLP), Leo will share the best tools he learned.

Mainstream news outlet have, for years, scrambled and bent language in order to narrate Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Mainly, avoiding the word “genocide”.

Language makes and unmakes, covers and uncovers. The choice of words is an important premise to justice. For the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Ukraine and all the people whose oppression is mis-worded.

🪢 The workshop maximum participants are already filled, but if you can and wish to come, please send us a dm.

RGBdog is hosting a workhop at Amsterdam! 🎉

Our collaborative design-thinking workshop, Data Degrowth: cleaning a ‘home’ in our hands, will explore finding new methods and rituals to clean up the data storage on our smartphones. We will look into theoretical framework of digital file management, Cloud services & data footprint, and the metaphors of digital language.

Together with participants, we will review our own data structure and investigate the concept of limited storage of physical computing, resisting the idea of an ‘unlimited cloud’ pushed by tech corporations. After the group reflections, we practise a ‘ritual of data cleaning’ on our own phones, learning iOS/Android storage tools, and storing their dearest data into a personal Floppy disk.

We're so excited to join this wonderful festval run by foundation. If you’re interested in celebrating the beauty of the internet and building transformative systems that make the digital world a better place, get your ticket and join us from June 19-21.
