Mime fabriek is coming with a new proposal to train together after summer. As a participant of the laboratory you will join four sessions of four hours every month. Each session is led by a different performing artist:Ā
Romany Dear:
is an interdisciplinary artist, body-based practitioner, researcher and educator. Romany defines their practice as a 'spilling', working across movement research, access-led organising and experimental writing/s. Romany is the co-head of the temporary MA programme, 'Monstrous Futurities: Practices of (un)learning, (un)doing and (un)making', at the Sandberg Institute (Amsterdam).
Ariadna Rubio LleĆ³:
is a theatre maker, collaborator, performer and educator. Trained in mime, her artistic practice moves between physical performance, drag, humour and collective processes. She is currently developing her drag king persona, Johnny Tranca, through whom she explores gender, transformation and desire.
Maria Mavridou:
is a dancer, performer, and maker working across the field of cross-disciplinary performance. She graduated with honours as a dancer and dance teacher from the State School of Dance in Athens, went on to complete postgraduate studies at the Dance Space Centre and Movement Research in New York, and graduated from SNDO in Amsterdam in 2007.
Willemijn Zevenhuijzen:
is a performer and maker who studied Mime at the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance. She has collaborated with all kinds of theatre makers (Roy Peters, Suzan Boogaerdt, Rene Geerlings,..etc) and is currently part of the artistic team of Artemis. Where she also creates her own work and artistic practice. In her practice she is captivated by fragility, failure, shame, gender, misbehaviour, silence and the senses.
Soon more information coming about each particular workshop! We are looking for a group that is willing to commit to the trajectory of four sessions together.
