Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights at the legendary venue Paradiso Amsterdam to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians in the city. An annual festival and the launch of the independent record label Super-Sonic Jazz Records followed. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary

genres such as hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means to listeners, enthusiasts and artists alike.

In a little less than 1 month we bring Super-Sonic Showcase Fest back to Paradiso together with Steppin' Into Tomorrow & .community!

With this one-day summer festival we create a space for local emerging musicians, highlighting the next wave of artists shaping the future of jazz and beyond.

This year we present with love RADIOHOP , ROSEYE , .music, WAZO BEAN, junya and Diana Dzhabbar.

Upcoming Thursday, June 11, singer-songwriter Ntjam Rosie () brings her new tour Who I Am to Tolhuistuin. Born in Cameroon and raised in the Netherlands, she has earned her place on the international music and theatre stage. Blending her West African roots with jazz, soul, pop and R&B, she has become one of the most distinctive voicesin Dutch music. Her ability to transcend genres and tell her stories with integrity and passion makes her an inspiration to a wide audience.

This week we’ve started a very exciting new project called Super-Sonic Series. Within this project we’ve invited 12 artists from the Super-Sonic Jazz family to write and record music together, eventually resulting in a compilation album.

Kicking the project off in Vlieland where we’ve partnered up with & .sessions for a writing camp.

On Friday, June 5, Felbm () performs live at Tolhuistuin.

Since his debut in 2018 with the Tape series on Soundway Records, the Dutch artist has become internationally known for creating intimate soundscapes where acoustic and electronic sounds seamlessly blend. Inspired by the natural world and changing seasons, his latest work winterspring/summerfall will be performed live with a trio featuring double bass, piano and flute.

On July 3rd, will present his debut album ‘The Echoes Within’ during a listening session at murmur. Ahead of the event, we spoke with the artist about how spending time in silence transformed his approach to music, as well as the inspirations and creative process behind the record.

The album was created over years of exploration and recording, drawing from classical guitar, Brazilian traditions, spiritual jazz, and a deep attention to the rhythms of nature. The music unfolds as an invitation to return to the present, to reconnect, and to experience sound as something that echoes both inward and outward.

Alongside the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival in November, Showcase Fest creates space for emerging talent pushing the boundaries of jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop- with a strong focus on the local scene. It’s a night where artists and audiences come together, connected through sound, experimentation and community.
