🔊 Two days left.

These are the final two days to spend time inside the Fragile Resonances exhibition before it goes quiet. After a month, Fragile Resonances closes June 20. It has been presented in the context of the Neighbouring Frequencies exchange programme between the Netherlands and Belgium, in collaboration with STUK Leuven and De Brakke Grond.

As part of the exhibition, Brahim Tall’s The Choir of Dissonance: The Creation of the Sea (2025) is on view. Based on a text by Marie Umuhoza, with music by Lisa Wambacq and audio design by David Dubois, the piece is carried by a chorus of whispered voices in English, French, and Portuguese that gather and grow. Fragile, fragmented utterances accumulate into a dense, resonant choir. The work attends to the voice as both vulnerable and powerful, tracing how individual expression can build into shared force, and how language, memory, and identity coalesce into a living, sonic body.

Born in Leuven to a Belgian-Dutch mother and a Senegalese father, Tall makes work that examines the Black body in relation to media and the gazes it produces. The installation began as a performance and was later reshaped during a residency at M Leuven. As a Flemish artist showing here on home ground, his work threads naturally into this cross-border exchange.

Looking back on a sold-out night at the majestic Orgelpark, where we were encouraged to close our eyes and get lost in the compositions of Kara-Lis Coverdale (Kara-Lis Coverdale) and Anushka Chkheidze (__@halfie__) resonated through the mighty 4DSOUND spatial sound system.

Kara-Lis Coverdale’s commissioned experiment for FIBER filled the majestic architecture with ethereal, sacred harmonies and warm drones, drawn through her delicate touch. Anushka Chkheidze’s adaptation of Intricate Pipes glimmered across arpeggios and rhythmic MIDI organ textures. Both were held in the clarity of 4DSOUND, which enveloped the room subtly yet powerfully.

While immersion is usually thought through the eye, this evening grounded it in sound, and asked what spatial listening might open up. The concert was part of Futures of Listening, a new Netherlands-based platform, co-founded by FIBER, 4DSOUND, Robin Koek, and Art of Sound (Royal Conservatoire The Hague), that supports emerging developments in spatial sound for immersive experience, performance and installation art.

Thank you for bringing FIBER Festival 2026 to life 💚

Our hearts are full after four festival days exploring all matters of Fragile Forces. Following our call regarding the changing landscape of ticket sales and rising costs for everyone, we are immensely grateful for a record number of visitors and several sold out shows. We enjoyed every second! Thank you for dancing, listening, exploring, and thinking with us.

From the ambient drift of Whatever the Weather () and the sensual melancholy of Bapari, to Kara-Lis Coverdale () ethereal, sacred harmonies and and Anushka Chkheidze’s () glimmering arpeggios spatialised through , to the post-industrial frequencies of Crawler (.blessure + ) ft. .e, sound carried the festival’s central question: how fragility becomes a force of its own. Across two club nights at and , with , we moved from immersive bass and psychedelic techno into a twelve-hour stretch of audiovisual worlds and adventurous electronic music.

Over two days, our Symposium Programme turned between artistic and theoretical perspectives on fragility, care and highlighted urgent developments in art and digital culture. Sound Art Sunday closed the festival as has become tradition, with a day given over entirely to sound art and to works that ask where sound lives: in objects, in space, in motion. And as a final note, Abdullah Miniawy Trio’s devotional brass gave way to KUNTARI’s ceremonial force at .

The exhibition programme, Fragile Resonances and Fragile Terrains at , gathered nine artists across two interconnected chapters. If you haven’t been able to go yet: Fragile Resonances stays on view with five works until June 20.

From an afternoon of slow thinking into twelve hours of bass and movement, FIBER Festival’s third day spanned every register.

The symposium at turned toward the theoretical and the conceptual, addressing digital culture, ecological listening, and the kind of regenerative thinking this year’s theme keeps asking us to imagine.

Cavernous, swampy, textured, Crawler’s debut drew us into post-industrial, sensuous and strange frequencies. Then at , our extended night in collaboration with moved through audiovisual worlds, stretching deep into Sunday morning.

⮕ Tonight we close at (20:30 – 22:50) with a double bill that stretches the structures of jazz until they open into something else entirely. Abdullah Miniawy Trio () move between spacious brass lines, spoken word and electronics, while KUNTARI bring something far more visceral, merging Indonesian traditions colliding with noise, metal and ritual percussion.

⮕ In the afternoon, Sound Art Sunday returns at (14:45 – 18:00): four experimental performances by Belgian and Netherlands-based sound artists coaxing sound from steel tubes, rotating speakers, gas-discharge lamps and stones; an afternoon of fragile materials made audible. Tonight we head to TILLATEC for a 12-hour descent into shifting intensities, spanning A/V works, live performances, and mind-bending DJ sets across Teclab and Washroom.

For the live performance part, (.forgues, & ). Charlène Dannancier () brings the site-specific work, It Might Be Otherwise, and CORIN (.ileto) presents DIWA, a live A/V work drawing on Filipino folk traditions. and eoobe ( & ) will perform new material.

Curated together with , the club lineup moves through deep and spiraling trajectories from & , the world-building live language of , and the psychedelic rhythmic flow of , who together with , will guide us into the morning.

Club scenography by & .rovers transforms the space into a shifting light architecture, while video works by .ranung, Antonija Vuletic (.xoxo), 2girls1comp, and Vartan Markarian () extend the experience beyond the dancefloor.

In the Rubber Room, you will also be able to experience works that are part of the TILLATEC residency programme: Portal by Beau van Hoydonck () and In the Process of Becoming Something Else Entirely by .nvdp.

Day 2 of FIBER Festival 2026 is a wrap 💚

At the sold out Orgelpark on our festival’s second day, compositions of two esteemed composers resonated in the spatial sound system. Kara-Lis Coverdale’s () commissioned experiment created for FIBER filled the majestic architecture with ethereal, sacred harmonies and warm drones through her delicate touch. Anushka Chkheidze’s () adaptation of Intricate Pipes glimmered across arpeggios and rhythmic midi organ textures.

Our first club night at Garage Noord was packed with heat, immersive bass, grimey beats, fierce moshpits, and psychedelic techno by , b2b , , , , , and , all held together by the astonishing lasers of .

Yesterday’s symposium opened up perspectives of fragility in artistic practices and culminated a timely keynote on the urgency of mutual aid by .dean & . Today’s programme focuses on theoretical and conceptual perspectives of Fragile Forces through talks by Geert Lovink, (remote), , , Carolyn F. Strauß and .jankovska.
