Today was the kick-off meeting for Global Café, our new community of international women in Amstelveen 🌸

Women of all ages and backgrounds came together to connect, share their experiences, and build a safe, intentional space for joy, growth, and mutual learning.

Some of their responses were really heartwarming:

"I realised I am not too old to make new friends."

"I was a bit nervous to come, but this feels like a safe space and everybody is so friendly!"

So many beautiful ideas were exchanged and we are incredibly excited to see this community grow, inspire, transform, and empower international (and local!) women in Amstelveen.

We are already up to a promising start: plans for a walking group as well as budgeting & stocks, Dutch pronunciation, and tea workshops were discussed.

And this is only just the beginning 🌷

🧶 Steek voor steek sterker

Bij OntmoetingLokaal organiseren we elke twee weken een creatieve en gezellige activiteit: haken en breien voor Spieren voor Spieren.

Iedereen kan meedoen — of je nu ervaren bent of net begint. Samen maken we kleine creaties die we verkopen om geld op te halen voor kinderen met spierziekten.

Kun je niet haken of breien? Geen probleem! Je kunt ook iets anders creatiefs doen, zoals borduren. Of haak gewoon aan voor de gezelligheid.

🧶 Stronger Stitch by Stitch

At OntmoetingLokaal we host a creative and social activity every two weeks: crocheting and knitting for Spieren voor Spieren, raising money for children with muscle diseases.

Everyone is welcome — whether you’re experienced or just starting out. Together we make small creations that are sold to help support this important cause.

Can’t crochet or knit? No problem! You’re welcome to bring another craft, like embroidery, or simply join us for the gezelligheid and good company.
