Yesterday, on June 21st — the longest day of the year — the heat called for a different rhythm of living.
By good fortune, high tide arrived twice while the sun was still with us, around 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., as if the sea itself had aligned with the day.
In the evening, we swam toward the setting sun and returned to the shore where a fire was waiting. Water and flame. The longest light slowly surrendering to night.
There was something timeless in it all: the sea breathing with the moon, the sun lingering at the horizon, friends gathered between water and fire.
A rare kind of abundance. Deep gratitude for this beauty, for these moments, and for the dear friends who share them with me in such a strange and complicated world.
