When I first designed this artwork I really didn't like how the flow-like movement of the pebbles was being confined by a frame.

So I decided to ask .nl to build me a custom frame....a rectangle with 2 corners...
And after a little clarification the challenge was accepted😅😉

And honestly this piece just wouldn't be complete without its frame. Together they have become a finished artwork 🖤🩶🤍

- Simple tasks -

The tasks that you do without thinking. The repetitive kind, the ones that can be done on muscle memory alone...

I enjoy and appreciate these tasks. Quiet, simple and very often tactile by nature.

Things like folding laundry, doing the dishes by hand or in this case carding the fibers for my next project...

A simple but necessary task.

My hands know what to do and my usually overstimulated ADHD brain switches into standby-mode as I guide the fibers into the gently rotating machine.

Rhythmic, relaxing, quiet and simple 🤍

Ik heb de afgelopen tijd zoveel uren en dagen in mijn atelier doorgebracht, en maar heel weinig tijd online... Ik neem vaker pauzes van sociale media, maar vooral in de winter wil ik me dan een beetje terugtrekken... Ik geniet van de rustige dagen in mijn atelier en de avonden lekker op de bank met een goed boek.

Ik laad mijn batterijen op in de rust en stilte en na een tijdje begin ik de behoefte aan een sociaal leven weer te voelen...
En nu, met nieuwe energie en creativiteit, is het tijd om me weer bij de rest van de wereld te voegen! Hallo! 😉

I've been spending so many hours and days in my studio, and only very little time online... I often have these breaks from social media throughout the year, but especially in the winter time I tend to want to hibernate a little... I enjoy the quiet days in my studio and the evenings curled up on the couch with a good book.
I recharge in solitude and after a while I start feeling the pull of a social life coming back to me...
And now, with new energy and creativity it's time to join the rest of the world again! Hi! 😉
