Aerial silks is een sport waarbij je in lange doeken van het plafond mooie figuren en gecontroleerde valletjes maakt.

Due to the succes and enthusiasm of everyone, 1 kids class is no longer enough. So starting june 6th we will be teaching another kids class!

So the new schedule starting in June will be:
🦩tuesday from 20:00 until 21:30 aerial silk 16 years and older
🦩thursday from 16:30 until 17:30 aerial silk 8-11 years (new)
🦩thursday from 18:30 until 19:30 aerial silk 8-11 years
🦩thursday from 19:30 until 20:30 aerial silk 12-15 years
🦩thursday from 20:30 until 22:00 aerial silk 16 years and older

The new kids class from 16:30 until 17:30 is in Beethovensingel 13 instead of 11. The entrance is next to the soccerfield.

Sunday September 10th Flamingo Aerial participated in the festival. It was a great succes! Great weather, great people and a lot of people of all ages who wanted to try aerial silks! Can't blame them, cause it is awesome 😄Though I might be a bit biased.

It is Flamingo Aerial's 1st birthday! 🥳 Exactly one year ago was the first ever class of aerial silks by Flamingo Aerial in Alkmaar. It all started as a passion project to make this awesome sport more available to everyone. I am very greatful to all the lovely people that joined Flamingo Aerial this year for their joy and enthusiasm, which makes it an absolute joy to teach. Thank you so much!

Rigging matters!
No matter if you go for steel or aluminium rigging, check it regularly for any signs of wear. Besides that, to keep you rigging in good condition, take good care of it (so don't just drop it on the floor 😉) Stay safe!

Help, which silk hook should I get?!
You want to buy a new silks hook, but unsure of what to get? There are many different types of silk hooks. In the posts I will explain the pros and cons of the two most common types: figure 8 and barrel hooks. There are many more options of course, but I hope this helps you a little. In the end the most important thing is that the hook is tested and has a good working load. Also if you already have one, inspect you rigging often so see if it is still in good condition. Good luck with your pick!
