UPDATE ON AKWA IBOM MOVIE INDUSTRY MEETING THAT HELD ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2022 AT DISCOVERY PARK.

IN ATTENDANCE WERE MEMBERS OF:

Production Managers Guild Of Nigeria (PMGN)

RESOLUTIONS:

1. Nollywood Industry is a colony of different professional fields and each field has a governing body known as guild. As such, heads of these guilds oversee the affairs of the film industry at the national. We have adopted this template in the State. Henceforth, Heads of Guilds in Akwa Ibom is the official governing body of the Akwa Ibom Movie Industry.

2. The movie industry is not an opposition party nor rival group to the government, we partner every government in power to create jobs, wealth and diversify the economy through our creativity and profession. If we have grievances and agitations, we use polite and civil approach to engage the government through the SA to the Governor on Entertainment.

3. The film industry is not a political party nor a political support group, therefore the movie industry doesn't endorse political parties nor candidates to avoid dividing the industry by political party lines. However, individual movie practitioners are free to identify with, as well as endorse any political party or candidate that appeal to them.

4. The movie industry is boycotting the 2022 Entertainers Week for reasons we have communicated with the SA to the Governor on Entertainment and Chairman Planning Committee, Ibom Entertainers Week 2022.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment industry Mr David Sergeant AKA Utang Akwa Ibom and the Chairman, Planning Committee for the 2022 Entertainers Week, Mr Godfada Uko, should honour their agreement with Nollywood Heads of Guilds by signing a press release to officially call off the Film Festival and Filmmaking master class to avoid confusion and misunderstanding, jingles on radio and TV are still announcing the film festival and master class.

PEACE ANYIAM-OSIGWE MFR: Founder of AMAA In Uyo For Movie Producers Inauguration!

Peace Anyiam-Osigwe MFR, the National President, Association of Movie Producers will be in Akwa Ibom for the Inauguration of Pioneer Executives of ASSOCIATION OF MOVIE PRODUCERS Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

Ms Peace Anyiam-Osigwe MFR is the MD/ CEO of the African Film Academy organizers of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). She is a writer, journalist, Lawyer and a Filmmaker. She has put in over 30years of her life in the film industry called Nollywood, she has trained over 10,000 youths over African.

As a Filmmaker, she has produced alot of films, it will interest you to know that she is a member of the Cinematographers Society of Nigeria, Directors Guild of Nigeria and also Association of Movie Producers Nigeria.

Ms Peace Anyiam-Osigwe MFR is the sixth president of the Association of Movie Producers Nigeria and the first female President of Association of Movie Producers Nigeria.

Association of Movie Producers Nigeria turned 25years on the 6th of September 2021, in this 25years of Association of Movie Producers no past administration gave the push to open a State Chapter in Akwa Ibom State. In her 7months in office as president, she took the decision with the help of her executives to open a state Chapter in Akwa Ibom State. And on the 1st of May 2021 Election was held with Hon Aniebiet Francis emerging as first Akwa Ibom AMP Chapter Chairman. As an AMP Chapter, Association of Movie Producers Nigeria Akwa Ibom State has as at this inauguration 78 registered members all to the efforts of Hon Aniebiet Francis led executives.

On Saturday, September 18, 2021, we will converge at Wat Bridge Hotel for the Inauguration of the Pioneer Executives of ASSOCIATION OF MOVIE PRODUCERS, Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

INAUGURATION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF MOVIE PRODUCERS: A New Dawn In Akwa Ibom Movie Industry.

The movie industry is a hub of diverse professionals comprising Proucers, Directors, Actors, Playwrights, Lighting Directors, Make-up Artists and Costumes, Technicals Directors and Production Managers etc. It is however the case that the entire hub depends on the producer for sustainance.

The Association of Movie Producers, Nigeria was established by the Federal Government to cater for the needs of movie producers in Nigeria and by extension the well-being of the entire industry.

The birth of this Association in Akwa Ibom State will usher our movie industry into a dawn of relevance, rapid growth, progress and development.

AKWA IBOM MOVIE PRODUCERS WORKSHOP - 1

The 21st Century Movie Producer must understand three factors about film production. These factors are - the CREATIVITY of film, the WELLNESS of film and the BUSINESS of film.

To effectively equip Indiginous movie producers in Akwa Ibom with cutting edge skills in these areas, the Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter is organising a two days workshop tagged IBOM MOVIE PRODUCERS WORKSHOP.

Date: September 17-18 2021
Venue: Spring Time Food, D Line Ewet Housing, Uyo (By Ultra Fit)
Time: 9am- 6pm(Day 1) & 9am- 12pm(Day 2).
