Have you ever looked at a family line and wondered, "Why is everyone hitting the same invisible wall?"
In many families, there is a silent pattern. No one rises above a certain level. No one graduates. No one stays happily married. No one breaks out of financial stagnation. It’s an unspoken law of limitation, a jinx that holds generations hostage.
This past Sunday, our drama ministration told the powerful story of one such family. For years, stagnation was the family identity. No one rose. No one made it.
But one child decided, "Enough is enough."
This child refused to settle for the status quo, chose to stand in the gap, and through a divine Encounter with Destiny, broke the chains that held the entire family down! 🔓🙌
This story mirrors the biblical account of Gideon in Judges 6. Gideon’s family was impoverished and oppressed by the Midianites. Nobody was rising. But when Gideon had a divine encounter with the Angel of the Lord, his destiny shifted. God told him to first throw down the altar of Baal in his father’s house. Gideon broke the jinx, became a deliverer, and rewrote his family’s history!
Just like Gideon, it only takes one person aligned with God to change the narrative for an entire generation. You don't have to carry the burdens your parents carried. Your children don't have to fight the battles you fought.
