REPORT OF CONDOLENCE VISIT BY AKWA IBOM BAND OWNERS ASSOCIATION (AKBOA), UYO CHAPTER
Yesterday, I led a cross-section of members of the Akwa Ibom Band Owners Association (AKBOA), Uyo Chapter, on a condolence visit to one of our members, Comrade Christopher Eyo, following the demise of his beloved wife, Late Mrs. Christopher Eyo.
Upon our arrival, Comrade Christopher Eyo warmly welcomed the association and shared his experience during the difficult period. He expressed his feelings and recounted the challenges he and his family went through during the unfortunate event.
In my response, I encouraged our host to remain strong and steadfast, reminding him that there is hope for the family. I urged him to stay committed to God and trust Him for strength and comfort. Prayers were offered for God's protection upon him, his family, and his business.
I also charged members of the association to remain committed to their businesses and to the growth of AKBOA. I encouraged them to uphold honesty, professionalism, and integrity in their dealings with clients. Furthermore, I urged members to attend events with a positive mindset and a commitment to delivering quality service that satisfies clients.
During the visit, I reacted to a social media post made by a young man who is not a registered band owner. In the post, he publicly explained why he stopped performing at a client's event despite receiving payment. His reason was that food was not provided for his team, leading them to end the performance at about 3:00 p.m.
I wish to make it clear to our clients and the general public that food should never be a priority over service delivery. As professional band operators, we are engaged to work, deliver quality entertainment, satisfy our clients, and return to our respective homes. We do not attend events primarily for food; rather, we attend to render excellent services.
I also advise anyone seeking live band services in Akwa Ibom State to verify whether the band is registered with the Akwa Ibom Band Owners Association (AKBOA). Registration with the association promotes professionalism, accountability, and adherence to industry standards.
In conclusion, I thank Almighty God for granting us a safe journey throughout the visit. I pray that God will continue to perfect all that concerns AKBOA and grant us success in our collective efforts.
AKBOA... Let the Business Pay!
Comrade Blessing Amos.
Chairman, AKBOA Uyo Chapter
