KEMI'S DAIRY (High School Illusion Ep2)
It was 6:30 a.m in the morning when I heard a bang on my door, do I need a sorcery to tell me that's my mom? Of course not, Kemi! It's 6:30 a.m and you're still on bed? it's your first day at school so get up and prepare, her voice was like that of a trumpet very loud. I stumbled on my bed as I took a bow beneath my pillow, Kemi! she called out again, I believe you're in the bathroom it's almost 7:00 o'clock, I sprung up immediately and made my way to the bathroom. As about 7:20 a.m I was done with breakfast and as well dressed up for school, 7:45 a.m I was in the principal's office with my elder brother waiting for the principal. Finally the principal arrived, sorry I kept you waiting I was stuck in the petrol station, you know the country how it is Nigeria with fuel wahala he said as he relaxed in his soft luxury chair. After much deliberation yesterday with the headteachers I was made to understand that J.S.S 1A to J.S.S 1B had reached the maximum number of 20 students, on hearing that from the principal my heart sank and my spirit almost let my body, it took a lot of dinner prayers to restrict my spirit, my elder brother was extremely happy because he didn't support the idea of me being a student of community secondary school, to him, he believes the school is not good enough to boost my brain academically, no professional teachers, not even a better learning environments. I'm even sure their library is outdated, that is, if they even had one.
I really don't know why you are so bent on going to that school, that school is beneath you, you're a very bright and intelligent boy why do you want to throw that away? You can't judge a book by it's cover, I retorted, besides, it is not even on record that you have for once attended that school, so you don't have the right to address their teachers as incompetents.
An intelligent child will always remain intelligent irrespective of the school he or she attends. you're just being naughty hope you know that? He responded as he walked out of the sitting room. k
Knowing fully well I won I never thought of anything else than to giggle and throw myself on the couch. So, Sir, is that to say he will no longer be admitted into the school? I knew very well what was in my brother's mind, if he had his way he would squeeze the principal's troat to speak in his favor, well, the principal replied, we still have Jss1C, but I won't advise he go into that very section because the students in that section has these low IQ which may not be good for his academic performance and progress, the smile on my brother's face was like that of a Warrior who just won a deadly battle so real and unexplainable.
Well, I hate being a killer with joy and happiness but in this very context he just lost the battle he thought he had won cos I gave him a spiritual punch he couldn't comprehen.
I don't mind, sir, I broke in, I will go into that section sir, I just want to be in this school, I don't want to go to any other school.
Well at this point I don't need a soothsayer to tell me the look on my brother's face cos I'm very much sure if there is hot water around he'll roast me like a Christmas chicken so I didn't bother to look at his face.
From your presentation I assume you are very smart and intelligent kid, but, are you sure you're going to be fine in that section? the principal ask, very well, Sir, I'll be good I replied confidently.
Very well then, you'll resume tomorrow due to the fact that classes had already gone far for today. Thank you very much sir, I replied happily. You're welcome, the principal replied, so I stood up and walked out of the principal's office without my brother cos I was scared he'll even swallow me with saliva at that point.
