The Poetry Unplugged Project THE POETRY UN-PLUGGED PROJECT is an annual spoken word and performance poetry project designed around the ideals of UNESCO World Poetry Day.

THE POETRY UNPLUGGED PROJECT engages youth meaningfully through the art of Poetry while exhibiting its relevance as an art form within African society, using it as a tool for education, transformation, character molding, capacity building and youth empowerment. THE POETRY UNPLUGGED PROJECT is one of the fastest growing poetry platforms in Nigeria. It is a spoken word and performance poetry project designed to engender and promote positive intellectual capacity in youths through the creative and expressive elements of poetry. We engage youth positively through the art of poetry, using it as a medium for education, transformation, character molding, capacity building, cultural enlightenment, and youth empowerment.

Our project also advocates the formation of critical masses through educational, social and digital platforms specifically aimed at promoting African poetry. Our goal is to enlighten and engage young impressionable minds, educate while entertaining the general public and cumulatively add value to the youth by offering them a platform for positive self-expression.

We aspire to be the most youth-oriented, artistically vibrant, economically viable, educationally inclined, intellectually productive, creatively inclusive and culturally dynamic poetry project in Africa.
