This is one thoughtful poem I stumbled upon few days ago. The full poem has a clear message engraved within— that no matter how inevitable death is, there's something deeply human about wanting to resist it, to fight it.

It could also refer to failure or loss or whatever challenge that may seem too impossible to evade, it's human to want to cling into the strings of hope.

Don't get me wrong
I make wishes, dreams and build flying castles
Sometimes expectations fall so far out of reach
And you still want to believe
Other times you just want to ignore and beat it
They say I'm mortal
But who dare says I'm ordinary?

I can't settle for less.
