I find it strange that we spend so much of our lives chasing things that were always going to disappear.
Beauty fades on its own schedule, not ours.
Power changes hands so often that history reads like a long list of temporary owners.
Influence moves from person to person like something on loan, never fully belonging to whoever is holding it at the time.
We build entire identities around things we were only ever renting.
Then we act surprised when time finally does what time has always done, quietly, without asking permission, without apology.
Maybe the real question was never how to outrun time.
Time was never the enemy. It was simply keeping its own appointment.
The real question is what deserves to survive it, and what was only ever going to matter for as long as it was useful.
That might be why art has never gone out of fashion.
It does not ask to be remembered forever.
It just keeps a conversation going long after the people in it have gone quiet, patient enough to wait for whoever is ready to listen next.
