Baba Araba Ifayemi Elebuibon the Olu Ìṣẹ̀ṣe of Osogbo, set the conversation rolling at Ulé-Ọnà with an insightful presentation on “The Omoluabi Value System, Well-being and Spatial Planning.”

He explored the Omoluabi belief system as a moral compass that shapes the civility, communal living and urbanism of the Yoruba people. Emphasising equity, good neighbourliness and collective responsibility, he highlighted how these enduring values serve as the foundation for spatial urbanism, community well-being and infrastructural growth.

Baba continues to embody the depth, richness and enduring wisdom of Yoruba culture. His presence reminds us that our heritage is not merely something to admire from the past, but a living legacy that must be understood, preserved and passed on to future generations.

At Ulé-Ọnà, we were privileged to listen, learn and share in the wealth of knowledge he brings to every conversation.

A true custodian of culture, tradition and knowledge.

Thank you, Baba, for sharing your wisdom with us. 🙏🏾

The Vision Behind Ulé-Ọnà

Here, Dr. Architect Bode Jegede, a cultural enthusiast and architect, shares the vision behind Ulé-Ọnà and why he chose to establish the space in Osogbo.

Osogbo is a land deeply rooted in heritage, culture, and tangible expressions of a people’s identity. For Dr. Jegede, this richness provides an important foundation for exploring and promoting the uniqueness of the people of Osogbo, both indigenous and non-indigenous, while creating room for contemporary knowledge and new ideas.

His vision is to bring together the best of two worlds: the wisdom, heritage, and knowledge we have inherited, alongside contemporary ideas and possibilities.

Ulé-Ọnà is therefore an invitation to embark on a journey of self-discovery to explore who we are, appreciate what makes us unique, and collectively bring these ideas to life in meaningful ways.

Join us on this journey as we explore culture, knowledge, identity, architecture, and the possibilities that emerge when heritage meets the contemporary world.

Ulé-Ọnà, Culture. Creativity. Community.
