This is the Story behind the Arrest of our President Oga Teazer Tv and Team!!

On the 19th day of November, 2025 at about 1:45pm, the president of our guild alongside members of his team were arrested by the men of the Nigerian Police Force for shooting a content at 4 lanes traffic lights, Uyo.

According to the police, Oga Teazer and his team didn’t obtain clearance from them before embarking on the shooting.

The president and his content’s team explained to the officers that they were shooting a content not protesting.

After the police had finished listening to their explanations, the police said that they are invited for questioning and investigation. They obliged and followed them into the police van and were taken to B-Division of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.

After arriving the station, the officers said that they are free to go but they need to es**rt them to were they were shooting the video. Unknowingly to them, they were taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the State Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo.

Upon arrival, they were asked to write statements. Few minutes later we, the Executive of Ibom Content Creator Guild arrived the Office of the State CID for clarification and to obtain the offense they committed.

The officer in charge of the case refused to tell us the offense they committed. He claimed that he wants to put up the case file of our president and his team. He asked us to wait outside for him to finish the case file and we waited for more than 30 minutes. After waiting outside for long, we decided to go in and we were told that our president and his team were protesting without obtaining clearance from the police force.

We asked them to point out what they meant by protesting. To the best of our knowledge, Oga Teazer and his team didn’t stage any protest nor caused public disturbances during the shoot. They were creating content.

We found their claims as an abuse of the constitutional rights and freedom.

It is entrenched in Article 20 of the UDHR, Article 21 and 22 of the ICCPR and Section 40 of the 1999 Nigerian constitution which states: Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of his interests.

We are calling on the Civil Society of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Government, Nigerian Human Rights Commission, Content Creators and patriotic citizens of Nigeria to stand up for the release of Oga Teazer and his team members.
