On the premise that life is a marketplace of bargains, two discarnate figures set for a rebirth after an unfulfilled first life stand before Awele, the goddess of rebirth and fortunes, to bargain their way into an upper-class for their second-coming on earth. The play, 'Awele', written by Cheta Igbokwe, is an allegory of choices, unrequited love, and a reimagination of Ilo-Uwa in the Igbo thoughts.

Dear Friends, Patrons and Supporters,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the University of Nigeria's Arts Theatre on the March 6th, 7th, and 8th 2024, for stage production of "Brother-Brother."

"Brother-Brother" is written by Cheta Igbokwe, and directed by Richard Ndu Umezinwa, Roland Ozoemena Odo, and Ugochukwu Victor Ugwu. The play is produced by the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, University of Nigeria, and the Maestro Theatre.

“Brother-Brother" tells the story of the critically ill Professor Ojemba Enwilo, who returns from the U.S. to Nigeria to plan his funeral and leave an artistic legacy. Reuniting with his long-separated brother Ndaa Okenta, the two embark on a journey to outwit their formidable foe called Death. Set in one day, “Brother-Brother” explores humanity’s timeless struggle to come to terms with mortality.

We look forward to welcoming you to the theatre. Thank you.
