Answering beauty pageant questions

You have a pageant you registered for but you are so scared because you don't know how to answer that question that will pop up on the grand finale right?
Well lemme just tell you the truth if you scared of this question then you are not really ready to be among the top 10 not to talk of winning the competition because in most pageants only top 10 are oppourtuned to be questioned. In some pageants only top 5 are oppourtuned. It's only in very few pageants that top 20 gets the opportunity to be asked questions.

So I guess you should start praying to reach the question and answer stage 😂 because it's an opportunity indeed and it shows you are very close to the crown 👑.
So answering beauty pageant questions no doubt is quite stressful because you don't even know what you will be asked Tho so you just need to be ready to face anything but one good way of getting prepared is to know about the crown you are fighting for let's say the pageant is a school pageant of course you should expect education based questions or questions about your school or department etc so hope you now understand?

If your Pageant is African based then you should also know where your questions will come from... Another thing is to know the aim of the pageant, some pageants fight sexual abuse, Hiv/aids, child molestation, domestic violence etc so you should also expect questions from there too.
After preparations you are not yet certain of the exact question you will be asked to doubt and that's enough reason to be scared so below is a guide on how to tackle beauty pageant questions because they are mostly higher order questions in the sense that the answer differs according to the individual or the person answering the question.

There are things judges look out for when you answer questions
1)How convincing you sound when you answer the question otherwise called confidence. You should answer the question like you are sure of what you are answering, you should be very audible, don't look down when answering questions, smile, and that's enough.

2)Ability to communicate to the crowd. We are looking out for that clarity my dear it's not all about speaking phonetics o.. You should say what your audience will hear, you should be audible, don't rap your answer, your answer should flow from you. Avoid unnecessary bridging like em.... err... Etc learn to flow. When the audience start cheering you Soo loudly because they love your answer pause a bit with a smile and allow them to calm down then continue immediately the noise reduce. Look at them but above their heads to avoid undue distraction.

3)Ability to answer your question: my dear you should think before you answer. Don't form a habit of jumping to answer without thinking. It's better you waste time before answering and flow all through than starting immediately and then lack words to finish. Answer what you are required to answer. Don't be the type that tell long stories. Make your answer as brief as you can but with points.

After answering your questions give that sweet smile, strike your pose and catwalk back if you are required to go back to your previous position. Even if you feel you answered rubbish just keep smiling because even if you fail the question your confidence might help.

Hope you learnt something please invite your friends to the group.

HOW TO GET INTO MODELLING?

What’s Modelling?
A model is an individual who poses for photoshoots and walks in fashion shows to promote brand designs. Their images appear in magazines, in stores and on TV depending on the niche and intention of the shoot. Runway shows can range from international fashion weeks to shopping centre events, which both deserve a professional attitude.

Modelling is not as easy and glamorous as first appears demanding a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment. Successful models are a result of a hopeful’s determination and passion for the fashion industry. It is a very competitive environment to be a part of with only the most persistent succeeding.

How to Get into Modelling?
If you’ve ever wondered how to start, you’ve come to the right place. It is not an easy process yet armed with determination and talent you will have the best shot possible.

Decide on the type of model you want to become.
Research reputable agencies that specialise in your niche and have a strong reputation in their field.
Apply to agencies. Either fill out their form online or attend an open call.
Practice your poses and walk to a high standard.
Build a professional portfolio that showcases your talent.
Create a strong social media presence.
Take care of your complexion and physique by eating a nutritious diet and exercising regularly.
Be persistent. Rejection is a big part of the industry. If you don’t hear back or are turned away do not give up.
Attend as many castings as possible.
Act with caution to ensure your safety.

What Are the Types of Modelling out There?
The industry hosts a variety of different niches for male and female models to excel in. Specialist agencies cater for each type to help hopefuls who wish to pursue a career in the particular area of the fashion world. Female and male model requirements differ from niche to niche.

Commercial Models – High street and catalogue brands feature models in their ad campaigns to promote the latest designs for the season. The requirements are slightly more relaxed opting for an accessible look.

Teen Models – Covering 12-17-year-olds, jobs for teens are usually for brands who cater for this age range.

Child Models – Those aged under 12 fall into the child model bracket and are used to represent a brand who designs for kids.

Plus Size Models – As a way to break into the industry, curvaceous figures are campaigning for representation. Fuller physiques are hired by plus size brands and a small proportion of mainstream designers. To become a model with this label you have to be a size 12 or over.

Fitness Models – Athletic and sports labels hire muscular female and male models to train and pose in their apparel to promote their brand. Toned abs, bulging biceps and strong thighs are required for this niche.

Body Part Models – An area for those with particularly beautiful hands, legs or feet will succeed in the body part world.

Petite Models – For those under 5’6, jobs consist of the commercial industry working for labels who cater for a tiny, small frame.

Glamour Models – This niche requires models to wear lingerie (or be completely n**e) and pose in a seductive, provocative way. Only accept these roles if you truly wish to work in the glamour industry.

What’s the Best Way to Start Modelling for Teens?
It is very much the same process in the journey of ‘how to become a teen model.’ The few differences include your parent’s consent, which is essential to accept any teenage opportunities. Under the age of 18, all adolescents need your mum and dads approval to be signed by an agency or to model in a photo shoot or show. Also, their presence is required at all model jobs for teens.

As mentioned above, find agencies that are legit and suitable for your age range. The brands they work with are a big sign to determine the kind of work that you will be expected to do. Work together with your parents to understand if the organisation and whether it is suitable.

Pros and Cons of Becoming a Model
There are many positive and negatives when it comes to the model industry. It is up to you to decide whether the pros outweigh the cons. You can read more about a day in the life of a model for more details.

Pros

Travel around the country or even the world.
Meet lots of interesting and potentially famous people.
Earn lots of money if you work hard.
Be the first to wear gorgeous designer clothes with even a few freebies.
A healthy diet and exercise routine will make you feel great.
You get to do your dream career that you are passionate about.

Cons

All models need to be aware of scam artists throughout their careers.
Long hours with early starts and late finishes.
Low pay until you become a successful model.
Rejection happens to both new and established models.
Work is very sporadic with models not finding work for weeks.
Not seeing family for long periods of time.

What You Should Avoid in Modeling

The industry attracts scam artists who prey on naïve, young models in the hope of luring you into a trap. This could be a huge amount of money for nothing in return or put you into a dangerous situation. Always act with caution and never trust someone who is hiding behind a computer screen. It is very easy to look legit and professional online. Therefore, don’t agree to pay money or pose n**e on Skype as before you know it they will have either lots of your cash or these images may be spread online.

Have you ever wondered what it's really like being a model?

We got the lowdown from model and writer Rachel Woods – and you won't believe what she had to say…
1. Develop a thick skin. A lot more work goes into re-touching images than most people realise. Some models can be completely altered in pictures from the way they normally look. There are many tricks used to create that perfect image – I even once had my ears superglued back because a photographer thought they stuck out too much.
2. It is ok to eat. Believe it or not, not all models live on sticks of celery and two grapes a day, the majority of models actually eat a normal healthy diet, and can even enjoy the odd burger and milkshake. But don’t tell anyone…
3. Models don’t always get paid for shoots. Especially for new models building up their experience, there are many shoots that compensate in trade, either with photos or clothes, or sometimes you may not end up with anything at all.
4. Shoots are not always as glamorous as the photos portray. There is often a lot more going on behind a photo shoot than the finished picture presents. The model may have to work on a really cold or hot day wearing completely the wrong type of clothes for the season, have had 100 outfit changes or had to pose in really uncomfortable positions to get the shots.
5. You have to be on your guard. With so many camera phones backstage at shoots and runway shows sometimes someone will try and capture models at times when they may not want to be photographed. I personally had a shoot for a prominent magazine and whilst the other models and I were getting changed there was a dodgy guy taking pictures with hidden cameras. Not cool.
6. Despite getting to wear the most beautiful, expensive, glamorous outfits, models unfortunately don’t actually get to keep the clothes. Sometimes you may get lucky and get to keep something, but this rarely happens.
7. Most people believe models just have photoshoots everyday, whereas in reality many models (apart from supermodels) find it tricky getting regular bookings. There can often be periods of time with nothing but castings before work starts coming in.
8. Modelling can involve a lot of time spent waiting around; whether that’s waiting to get your hair or makeup done, waiting for the photographer to set up, waiting to get your photos back, waiting for runway shows to start or waiting to be seen at castings. So you often see models with a book or iPhone in hand as there is so much free time
9. Your expectations don’t always match reality. There can be the rare occasions whereby a model can apply for, or turn up at a shoot, expecting one thing (e.g. a fashion shoot) and find that the photographer wants to try and change it to a topless or n**e shoot.
10. Models can be any age. A common misconception is that you need to be young in order to model, however there are so many different types of modelling, if you have the right look, there are plenty of opportunities out there for the more mature lady. It’s never too late.
📷
At the end of the day, take a bow, because modelling can be hard work!
