📢 ANNOUNCEMENT: REINSTITUTION OF ECUMENICAL MONTHLY PRAYER AND FASTING.

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, Prof. Timothy Terseer Alabar, has graciously reinstated the Ecumenical Monthly Prayer and Fasting for the University Community.

The initiative, which brings together the Good Shepherd Catholic Chaplaincy, Goodnews Chapel and other Christian groups, is aimed at seeking God’s guidance, protection, peace and blessings upon the University, its leadership, staff, students and the wider community, while promoting Christian unity and fellowship.

ALABAR SEEKS TETFund INTERVENTION FOR STRATEGIC ACADEMIC INFRASTRUCTURE, INFECTIOUS DISEASES CONTROL IN MOAUM.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, today paid a visit to the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arc. Sonny S. T. Echono, FNIA, at the Fund’s headquarters in Abuja, where he presented the University’s priority development needs and solicited the Fund’s intervention in critical areas of academic infrastructure and research development.

Professor Alabar, who was received at the TETFund Headquarters, used the occasion to formally present the University’s request for intervention in the construction of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as support for the establishment of the Institute for Infectious Diseases Control.

The Vice-Chancellor explained that the proposed projects are integral to the University’s vision of strengthening its academic programmes, expanding opportunities for students and building institutional capacity to respond effectively to emerging educational, scientific and public-health challenges.

According to him, the proposed Faculty of Communication and Media Studies is envisaged as a hub for modern communication education, journalism, media innovation and professional training, while the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will contribute to the development of highly skilled pharmaceutical professionals and strengthen the University’s contribution to healthcare delivery and research.

Of particular strategic importance is the proposed Institute for Infectious Diseases Control, which Professor Alabar described as a forward-looking initiative designed to position the University as a significant centre for research, training, knowledge generation and intervention in the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the establishment of the Institute would not only enhance the University’s research profile but also create opportunities for collaboration with relevant national and international institutions in addressing infectious diseases and other emerging public-health challenges.

Professor Alabar further emphasised that the requests form part of his administration’s commitment to developing infrastructure that directly supports the University’s academic mandate, research aspirations and contribution to the socio-economic development of Benue State and Nigeria.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny S. T. Echono, FNIA, commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, for identifying projects that are closely aligned with the University’s academic, research and developmental priorities.

He noted that TETFund remained committed to supporting the growth and development of tertiary institutions through strategic interventions in infrastructure, academic programmes, research and other areas that would enhance the quality of teaching and learning. He assured the University that its requests would receive due attention and consideration within the framework of the Fund’s intervention guidelines and available resources.

Arc. Echono further emphasised the importance of universities developing projects that would have sustainable impact on students, staff and the wider society. He particularly acknowledged the strategic relevance of the proposed Institute for Infectious Diseases Control, noting that initiatives that strengthen research capacity and contribute to addressing public-health challenges are important to national development.

He encouraged the University Management to sustain its engagement with TETFund and to ensure that proposed projects are properly articulated and aligned with the Fund’s priorities, expressing optimism that continued collaboration would contribute to the University’s growth and institutional transformation.

The visit underscores the determination of the Alabar-led administration to pursue strategic partnerships and mobilise critical resources for the transformation of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University into a more competitive centre of teaching, learning, research and innovation.

SALE OF PRELIMINARY TECHNOLOGY & INDUSTRIAL STUDIES FORMS FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the preliminary Technology & Industrial studies at the Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, for the 2026/2027 academic session. Beginning from Monday, 27th July, 2026

The Preliminary Technology & Industrial Studies prepares candidates to write their UTME and remedy their deficiencies at SSCE for admission opportunities into the following programmes in these three departments, as listed below:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
General Entry Requirements
The following are general requirements for the Preliminary Technology & Industrial Studies:
Candidates are required to possess a minimum of four (4) credits, including English Language in SSCE, GCE, NABTEB, (NTC or NBC), C&G I or II, Federal Craft Training Certificate, TC II or any other equivalent qualifications as may be approved by the University.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
(i) Agricultural Technology and Consumer Science Education
Four (4) O’ Level credits that must include English language, any three (3) subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Food and Nutrition, Textile and clothing, Economics, Geography.

(ii) Business Technology and Entrepreneurship Education
Four (4) O-Level credits are required, including English Language, and any three (3) of the following subjects: Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Commerce, ICT, or any business/vocational subject.

(iii) Industrial Technology Studies
Four (4) O’ Level credits that must include English language, any three (3) of Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, ICT, or NTC subjects.

NB: Candidates who have less than five (5) credits in relevant O-Level subjects MUST make up the subjects before they are placed into their desired programme. Candidates have the advantage of being guided through JAMB registration and are also given intensive coaching to enable them to obtain the maximum scores required by university management for admission.

MODE OF APPLICATION
i. Application available only on the online platform. Interested candidates are to visit Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University website https://portal.bsum.edu.ng/PVApplication.jsp
ii. Click on Preliminary Technology & Industrial Studies and complete the pre-registration information and submit. An application number will be generated
iii. Print a copy of the pre-registration form and proceed to the bank and pay a non-refundable application fee of Five Thousand Naira (5000.00) using the generated application number.
iv. After payment, applicants would be expected to revisit the Rev. Fr. Adasu University portal under application and click on preliminary Technology & Industrial Studies to complete their application form and submit
v. Applicants are to print a copy of the completed forms and submit to the office of the coordinator, Preliminary Technology & Industrial Studies, with photocopies of the following:
(a) Payment receipt
(b) SSCE, NABTEB, WAEC, NECO, GCE, results
(c) Local government certificate of origin
(d) Birth certificate
(e) Three (3) passports

UASTI, MOAU Explore Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Academic Development.

The University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ihugh (UASTI), has sought a strategic partnership with Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University (MOAU), Makurdi, to strengthen academic development, build manpower capacity and address critical infrastructural challenges confronting the young Institution.

The Principal Officers of UASTI made the request on Friday, 11th September 2026, when they paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of MOAU, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, and the University Management.

Leading the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor of UASTI, Professor Leornard Shilgba, said collaboration and resource sharing were imperative for the growth and stability of the institution, particularly in view of the limited resources available to a developing university.

Professor Shilgba expressed confidence that a partnership with MOAU would enable UASTI to benefit from the University's wealth of experience, expertise and facilities, while also creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and institutional development.

He identified teaching and academic manpower as one of the most pressing challenges facing the institution, explaining that UASTI currently has 34 programmes approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Of this number, 21 programmes have been developed, while 13 require further work in curriculum development and academic staffing.

He therefore solicited the support and expertise of Professor Alabar and the MOAU academic community in strengthening the programmes and enhancing the University's capacity to deliver quality teaching and learning.

The UASTI Vice-Chancellor also identified inadequate equipment and laboratory facilities as major areas of concern. He expressed optimism that access to relevant MOAU facilities and technical expertise would assist UASTI in addressing some of its immediate challenges and provide its students with improved opportunities for practical learning, research and skills development.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of MOAU, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, welcomed the UASTI delegation and assured the institution of MOAU's readiness to support its academic development within the framework of an emerging partnership.

Professor Alabar emphasised that collaboration among universities was increasingly important in the contemporary higher education environment, particularly as institutions seek innovative ways of maximising available resources, strengthening capacity and improving the quality of education.

He specifically offered the services and expertise of the MOAU Centre for Entrepreneurship and Faculty of Technology and Industrial Studies to UASTI, noting that the two units could contribute significantly to strengthening academic programmes, entrepreneurship development, technical capacity and skills acquisition at Ihugh.

The Vice-Chancellor further granted approval for UASTI to make use of relevant laboratory facilities of MOAU as part of the emerging collaboration, subject to the necessary arrangements between the Institutions.

Professor Alabar stressed that MOAU's willingness to support UASTI was driven by a shared commitment to academic excellence and the advancement of tertiary education in Benue State. He expressed the hope that the emerging collaboration would develop into a mutually beneficial partnership capable of promoting teaching, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, manpower development and institutional growth.

The visit ended on a positive note, with both institutions expressing their commitment to exploring practical areas of collaboration that would contribute to the sustainable development of UASTI and strengthen the higher education system in Benue State.
