Today, we celebrate a true statesman, a patriot, and a father of modern Nigeria, my personal father and mentor, the ever young General Yakubu Gowon(rtd.), GCFR.

You did not only lead our dear nation through one of its most challenging chapters, but also championed the timeless philosophy of β€œReconciliation, Reconstruction, and Rehabilitation.” which has kept Nigeria as one indivisible nation today.

Your life remains a shining example of humility, patriotism, and steadfast faith in the unity and greatness of Nigeria. As your mentee and son, I am eternally grateful for your guidance, wisdom, and the values of service and peace you have imparted in me. These virtues I will continue to uphold and pass to generations after me.

On behalf of my family, and the good people of Oju/Obi Federal Constituency, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating your 91st birthday. May the Almighty God continue to bless you with good health, strength, and joy as you continue to inspire generations.
