Daniel 12:4.
It says:
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (KJV)
This verse is often understood to mean that in the last days, there will be a rapid increase in movement, discovery, and understanding of the universe.
Let’s look at the deeper meaning of Daniel 12:4 in a simple but powerful way.
🔍 Deeper Meaning
When the verse says “knowledge shall be increased,” it can be understood in two main ways:
1. Spiritual Understanding
It doesn’t only mean worldly knowledge like science or technology. It also refers to:
• Greater understanding of God’s Word
• Revelation of hidden truths in • Scripture
Clarity about end-time prophecies
In earlier times, many prophecies in Book of Daniel were “sealed” (not fully understood). But as time goes on, God allows deeper insight.
2. Increase in Human Knowledge
This part is what many people notice today:
• Advancement in technology
• Easy access to information (internet, AI, etc.)
• Faster transportation (“run to and fro”)
These are often seen as signs aligning with the verse.
⚖️ Balanced Insight
While knowledge is increasing, the Bible also warns that:
Not all knowledge leads to wisdom. People may become informed but still lack truth or godliness.
So the verse is both:
• A sign of the times, and
• A call to seek true understanding, not just information.
💡 Simple Takeaway
“Knowledge shall be increased” means:
Both human knowledge and spiritual revelation will grow as time progresses—but wisdom comes from understanding God.
Beloved, we are living in times where knowledge is no longer scarce—it is everywhere. With a click, with a touch, with a scroll, information flows endlessly. Truly, the Word spoken in Book of Daniel is being fulfilled before our very eyes: “knowledge shall be increased.”
But pause for a moment…
Is it knowledge—or wisdom?
Men know more, yet understand less. We are informed, but not transformed. We can explain many things, yet we struggle to explain our purpose. This is the danger of our time—an overflow of knowledge without the guidance of God.
The same verse says “many shall run to and fro.” Movement everywhere… yet many are going nowhere. Busy lives, empty souls.
Beloved, God did not promise just an increase in information—He desires an increase in revelation.
In these last days:
• Don’t just seek knowledge, seek truth
• Don’t just gather facts, pursue wisdom
• Don’t just move around, move with purpose in God
Because at the end of it all, it is not what you know that will save you…
It is Who you know.
🙏 Closing Charge
Let the increase in knowledge draw you closer to God, not farther from Him. Let it sharpen your discernment, not confuse your direction.
May we not be lost in a world full of information, but be guided by divine understanding.
Information is everywhere.
Everyone knows something… yet not everyone understands truth.
We scroll, we search, we learn… but are we growing in wisdom?
Many are running to and fro—busy, active, connected—yet empty within.
In this age of increased knowledge: Don’t just be informed… be transformed.
Don’t just gain facts… seek God’s truth.
Don’t just move… move with purpose.
Because at the end of it all, it’s not how much you know…
It’s Who you know that matters.
