TechnoRanch, a functional agricultural system combining training, production, research and development for aquaculture and livestock. The centre is divided into 3 main sections:
Primary section: Research, Training and production of various produce (crops, livestock, fisheries) using best practices. Secondary section: processing of the farm produce to finished products using various farm processing
machines fabricated in the centre. Tertiary section: marketing of products transformed in various forms according to market demand or end users (consumers) preference. The Techno Ranch Centre is a showcase and considered as an African Concept Model aimed at empowering the youth to be self- sufficient where Nigerians are empowered to be on the driver’s seat to solve their problems instead of looking elsewhere. It is a totally integrated system, combining crop production, aquaculture and raising of livestock. The “output” of each one (e.g., chicken manure), becomes the input for another. The basic of Techno Ranch Centre is to create an Agro Processing, Training and Research Structure to ensure maximum utilization of natural resources by preventing wastage, taking care of everything right from the farm to the factory and to the industry. The main objective of Techno Ranch Centre is to train young agricultural entrepreneurs who, once established, become pillars of community - capable of commanding respect and attracting the surrounding populations to the new kind of agriculture practiced at Techno Ranch Centre. This training does not stop with the acquisition and mastery of techniques of agricultural production. Techno Ranch continuously follows up with its trained students from the pre-establishment stage through to the establishment of their farms and beyond. All the various departmental activities of Techno Ranch Centre converge directly or indirectly to these established farmers. At Techno Ranch Centre, every individual becomes a pool of innovation, invention, creativity. Motivation among students and job security will be increased by deploying TechnoRanch model that allows the trainees to earn in the process of learning. Trainees with astute entrepreneurial skills gain thus stand a chance of saving a kickstarter for their proposal, no matter how small it might be. The integrated farming model to be operated at Techno Ranch Centre is a feasible approach to boosting the productivity of small to medium scale farming and developing a sustainable agricultural enterprises for the youths.
