Do you know the meaning of this Arabic write up on the Nigerian army coat of arm? It is called "Nasrunminallah" which means " Victory is from God alone". It was an adage initiated by Usman Dan Fodio (the man that slaughtered and Islamized Northern Nigeria and wanted to spread it to the South). My question is:

1 Why did the Nigerian army adopted his slogan?

2 Why should it be written in Arabic?

3 Why using an adage of a man that brought terror in Nigeria?
