Former Rivers State Governor and ADC vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has fired back at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, saying he does not respond to his subordinate.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, Amaechi dismissed Wike's recent comments, stating:

> "I don't respond to my subordinate. Wike never hired me. By the time I finish mourning and go into campaign, anybody that insults me, I will insult him back."

Amaechi was reacting to Wike's claim that he no longer holds significant political influence in Rivers State and that he was chosen as Atiku Abubakar's running mate for financial reasons.

The latest exchange adds another chapter to the long-running political rivalry between the two former Rivers State governors as attention shifts toward the 2027 general elections.

The Abia State House of Assembly has passed a bill to regulate the activities of property and estate agents, landlords, and housing transactions across the state.

One of the major highlights of the bill is that property and estate agents can no longer legally charge more than 5% of the total rent as their commission.

A total of 176 victims who were abducted from Woro and Nuku communities in Kwara State on February 3, 2026, have regained their freedom.
