Experiencing The Mighty Acts Of The Mighty God.
Text: Psalm 114:1-8.
1. INTRODUCTION.
◾Psalm 114 is a poetic, celebratory psalm that recalls God's mighty acts during Israel's deliverance from Egypt and their journey to the Promised Land.
◾God delivered Israel from slavery under Pharaoh. Psalm 114:1- When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language.
◾Traditionally the Jews normally sing this song during Passover and other major festivals to remember God's saving power.
◾It reminds believers that the God who worked miracles in the past is still active today.

11. FOUR DIMENSIONS OF GOD'S MIGHTY ACTS IN PSALM 114.
1. GOD'S POWER FOR DELIVERANCE.
🔸Psalms 114: 1 - When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language.
🔸 God specialises in bringing His people out of bo***ge and into freedom.
🔸He rescued Israel from slavery in Egypt.
🔸What bo***ge has God delivered me from?
🔸What deliverance are you still trusting Him for?
2. GOD'S PRESENCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
a. "Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion"
b. God's greatest gift was not merely freedom but His presence. Exodus 33:14-15.
c. Big Questions ~ Is your life a dwelling place for God's presence? Do my thoughts, words, and actions honour Him?
d. As from today you shall become a carrier of God's presence.
3. GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY OVER NATURE.
a. Creations respond to God's authority ~ Lines 3 & 4 The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.
b. No obstacle is too great for God - What is the 'sea' or mountain are you facing that needs God's intervention, seek Him, not man.
c. The psalmist's concern - Why did the sea and mountain react the way they did?
Line 5 - What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, did you turn back?
6 - O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O little hills, like lambs?
d. God's rules over all creations - Trust God when circumstances seem unfriendly, unpleasant and unpalatable.
e. Earth should tremble before God
7 - Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
🔸How do you approach God today ~ reference, fear and trembling.
4. GOD'S POWER OF TRANSFORMATION.
a. Line 8 - Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.
b. God Brings Life Out of Hard Places
c. He can bring provisions from impossible places.
d. God can provide in barren places, create opportunities in impossible situations, and satisfy every need.
e. God is ready to transform any life that is willing to embrace Him. Paul was transformed, Nicodemus, Samaritan Woman beside the well.
111. LESSONS FOR TODAY'S BELIEVERS.
1. God can bring believers out of every form of bo***ge, when we call upon Him. God guided and protected His people through the desert. He provided water, food, and direction.
2. Obstacles will give way before God's presence. {Red Sea, Jordan} The Crossing of the Red Sea. "The sea saw it and fled" (v. 3). Refers to the miraculous parting of the Red Sea. The Crossing of the Jordan River ~ Jordan turned back" (v. 3). Refers to Israel entering Canaan under Joshua (Joshua 3).
3. God can make a way where there seems to be no way. Trust God during difficult seasons.
4. What can stop others cannot stop a person walking with God.
5. Divine presence brings believers to their destination.
6. Difficult situations can become sources of blessing. { Manna, Same clothes for 40 years.
7. The God who delivered Israel is still able to intervene today.
🔸Live and reverence God with your life.
🔸Depend on God's presence rather than your own strength.
🔸Give thanks for His continual provision.
🔸Always remember God's past faithfulness.
