Earlier today in church service, our Pastor was making an illustration, then she went ahead to ask who amongst the congregation is an educationist, no one signified, she asked over and over again, and after what seems like a persuasion and encouragement, about two people eventually signified.
Where I sat, I couldn't help but roll my eyes...I was displeased.
When does the stereotype stop?
When does it stop?
We keep saying people see teaching as a condescending profession, when we ourselves aren't even proud of what we do.
Like, being a teacher, do you even know who you are?
Do you know the value you carry?
Do you even understand the weight of your impact in the society?
Do you even understand that you are building lives?
I ask again, do you know who you are?
My Pastor went ahead to say encouraging words on how no one would become who they are without the help of a teacher.
Do you even know how true this statement is??
For every profession, there is always that person that would put the other person through...be it formal or informal.
I am not going to talk about what other people think about our profession, that's not my focus.
My focus is on us, who teaches.
You as a teacher, should understand that you are gold.
You are an asset to the society...so many lives depend on your willingness to impart knowledge.
We are the real deal, teachers.
Yes, we are.
We are the real super star.
So, next time anyone asks what you do, say it with pride and wear the badge with confidence.
I am a teacher.
I am an educationist.
I teach!
You see that second to the last slide, is how I am looking at all you teachers who aren't proud of what they do 😏
..and as for the last slide, Iamasuperstarteacherthroughandthrough😎🤭🥰
Signed
A very very proud super star teacher, Ms. Ola😌😎✌️
