Commissioned • This is especially close to the heart, the very first creative collaboration between us and one of Africa’s current greatest filmmakers, Victor “Keny Basil” Onwudiwe. A truly disturbing, not so far-fetched but also not so often explored perspective to male child abuse in the hands of older female relatives, a tale probably as old as time but which mostly manages to escape the attention of larger society.
“Echezona” embodies incredible storytelling and filmmaking of premium quality, duly matched by our premium contribution in the sound and music department, and rightly testified to by the numerous awards and recognition it’s garnered so far, and the conversations it’ll continue to drive around a normally difficult societal topic.
