At the just concluded Stakeholders Engagement convened by Coal City Film Festival in partnership with GIZ on the theme, "The Future of Enugu's Creative Economy: Advancing Female Employment in Film Technology", attendees were equipped with knowledge/insight to scale the ever competitive creative economic space.

Beyond validating research findings, one of the most encouraging outcomes at the Stakeholders Engagement was the collective commitment by stakeholders to:
✅ Promote greater gender inclusion across the creative industry.
✅ Create safer and more respectful work environments for women.
✅ Support policies and practices that encourage equal opportunities in technical professions.

On Day 2, we had the honour of interviewing Dame Barr. Ugochi Madueke, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Enugu State as a KEY INFORMANT in the interview.

The engagement was conducted for the purpose of understanding the realities of the labour market within Enugu's creative economy and identifying practical ways to increase opportunities for women in technical filmmaking roles.

The most valuable legacy isn't a successful film.
It's an industry that continues creating opportunities long after we're gone.

The engagement by The Coal City Film Festival (CCFF), in partnership with GIZ under the SKYE II Programme, successfully convened over 50 key stakeholders from government, the creative industry, civil society, academia, and development organisations for a Senior Stakeholders Validation Forum.

Together with GIZ, the Coal City Film Festival remains committed to building a creative industry where talent, not gender, determines opportunity.
