WILL SMITH RESIGNS FROM THE OSCARS ACADEMY .

When I first saw this , I personally thought “ This is too much “ the man has had a lot of clap backs and has apologized. Yes! He let his emotions get the beat of him but in truth he is Human and the Academy are still considering taking back his award and expelling or suspending him .
-
However, looking critically from a PR perspective I understood better. Cris Rock has used the 2020 USCAR incident to his advantage using the “under dog strategy “ everyone feels pity for him and his comedy tour has about 600% increase increase not to mention his career has just been revived by Will Smith .
Now instead of waiting for the Academy to take a decision; will made the hard decision changing and owning the narrative . Will Smith has created a sense of remorse ( Oh! He is remorseful , he really did resign) and pity for himself and now putting himself as the “under Dog”.

I am certain the Academy would consider this and withdraw considerations of suspension or expulsion which means he can still attend the oscars , he can still be nominated but only cannot vote at the academy awards.
