Many miles from Nigeria, as our anthem echoed in the Helsingborg Arena at the World Choir Games, we stood for the first time ever, singing the story of a nation we carry everywhere we go.

As we celebrate our nation's 66th independence, we remember that moment with joy, faith and hope that Nigeria will rise against all odds and step into a new season with great expectation for all that lies ahead.

It's and we're feeling nostalgic. So, we thought to share reactions from some of our members on the day we clinched the title as World Champions at the .choir.games in Helsingborg, Sweden.

A week ago, we had the privilege of having a Homecoming Dinner with His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, and his amiable wife, the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu

The pleasant evening was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate a remarkable journey — from Lagos to Helsingborg, Sweden, where we represented Nigeria at the 14th .choir.games and emerged as champions in the Spirituals Category and won Gold in the Sacred Music with Accompaniment Category.

It was also a moment to acknowledge the vision, investment and unwavering support that have helped shape this journey, particularly that of our Patron, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, whose commitment to the growth and excellence of Mountain Top Chorale continues to inspire us.

From the stages of Helsingborg to this special homecoming in Lagos, the journey has been filled with moments we will forever cherish.

We are grateful to His Excellency and Her Excellency for the warm reception and for celebrating this milestone with us.

We travelled far, sang our hearts out, made memories, and came home to an evening that reminded us why the journey was worth it!

For us, having the winning mentality did not happen overnight; it was backed up with commitment, faith, perseverance, grace and prayers.
Oh what a journey!

We also want to use this opportunity to also thank our Patron, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of MFM International Headquarters for his unrelenting support, encouragement and prayers as we embarked on our World Choir Games 2026 journey.
