I spent ₦80,000 to sew a suit for my friend's wedding, and he replaced me with his other friends who had just returned from the UK.

We had been planning the wedding together for months. I followed him around the market to buy things, helped him book the MC and the DJ, and assisted with several other preparations.

Then, a day before the wedding, he called me and said I shouldn't be among the groomsmen anymore. Instead, he wanted me to help look after the drinks during the event.

I had spent ₦80,000 on a suit simply because he was my good friend. And now he's dropping me, probably because the other guys are richer.

I didn't argue with him. I ended the call and never attended the wedding.

The only consolation some of us have is the dividends.

I didn't even want to talk about this issue until I got notification that the 25GB i bought about 2weeks ago is exhausted.

Most people think this Nuel Iyke guy just started making content with his grandma and blew up.

The guy really hustled. He lost both parents - his dad in 2009 and his mum in 2016.

Growing up in Umuahia, he loved acting in church dramas. In the neighborhood, everyone knew him as that kid who gathered other children to rehearse plays, and his younger brother would often record them.

So he's come a long way with the acting.

After 3 unsuccessful JAMB attempts, he enrolled for a diploma in Computer Science, and was later offered Home Science via direct entry at Michael Okpara University.

After bagging his degree, as the first child with no helper except his aged grandma, he couldn't afford to be idle.

He worked at The Choice Fast Food in Umuahia, and later, as a PRIVATE CHEF in Warri.

So the cooking thingy he does with his grandma isn't just a chore - he's trained in it.

He started posting skits on TikTok from his employer's son's house - whom he was squatting with in Warri.

In 2022, one of his videos hit 60k views. He rose to 20k followers in just 2 months.

In 2023, a Yemi Alade ‘Johnny’ skit brought him 600k followers.

Like play like play, he started earning more from TikTok lives than his N50k chef salary.

He quit his job and moved to Lagos in 2023 to create content full-time.

Today with 215k Instagram followers and 1m on Facebook, he blends comedy skits with cooking videos featuring his grandma, landing brand deals with itel, Tecno, and others.

The reason he doesn't joke with his Queen Mother is that she supported him all the way.

He's often said she financed his trips to other states for acting auditions.
Now, her life don dey soft. 🤗

Abia State Cannot Be a Mega City Like Lagos in 15 Years — Gov. Otti

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has said the state’s economic ambition is not to rival Lagos as a mega city within the next 15 years but to position itself as a viable alternative destination for businesses and investors.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Invest Lagos 3.0 forum, Otti stressed that Nigeria’s economic growth should not be concentrated in Lagos alone, arguing that other states must develop their economies to ease pressure on the nation’s commercial capital.

The governor commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for creating a platform that allows states to showcase their investment potential.

“It takes a lot of selflessness to invite other states to take advantage of a platform to market themselves, and I assure you I will not demarket you as I market myself,” Otti said.

While acknowledging Lagos’ status as Nigeria’s commercial hub, Otti said the country’s development would benefit from the emergence of additional economic centres.

“Lagos is a mega city. If you ask me, I would say it is overpopulated, and that is why it is good for other states to begin to grow, so that they can take what Lagos cannot take. And that’s where we come in. We can’t be a mega city in the next 10 years or 15 years, but there are things we can take off Lagos,” he stated.

Making a pitch to investors, Otti highlighted reforms in Aba, Abia’s commercial centre, noting that the city now enjoys uninterrupted electricity supply.

He also revealed that the Ariaria International Market has been transformed into a 24-hour market, a move he said is boosting commerce and productivity.

According to the governor, his administration is focused on creating a business-friendly environment through improved infrastructure, reliable power supply and investor-friendly policies.

Otti added that strengthening state economies across the country would not only reduce pressure on Lagos but also promote balanced national growth and development.
