I met Biodun Savage at UBA, Marina office when he worked there some years ago.
Very ebullient, courteous and kind man.
Writing this and my inner eyes are looking at him when he sat behind his desk in his well tailored bespoke suit, finely manicured nails, a good haircut on a very intelligent head and a good cologne to tops.
Biodun is a good guy.
Life, unfortunately, has happened to my friend.
Please help me keep him alive.
So much funds have gone into this and now we need help.

On April 27, 2024, I fell from the third step of a staircase. Doctors at Igbobi diagnosed a fracture of my right femoral head.
They noted that, at age 55, this type of fracture was unusual, so they ordered further investigations, including MRI and CT scans.
The scans revealed a nodule in my right thyroid gland and lesions in the lower regions of both lungs. A biopsy of the hip bone confirmed metastatic bone carcinoma.
Three months later, I underwent surgery for a Total Hip Replacement (THR) and was discharged in July 2024. I was then referred to a General Surgeon at LASUTH for further evaluation. The LASUTH consultant recommended a thyroid biopsy. A fine needle aspiration was done, and the initial result reported a benign nodule. My orthopaedic consultant disagreed with the finding and referred me back to LASUTH. The General Surgeon then advised a PET scan.
Due to the cost — over one million Naira — it took us almost a year to raise the funds. The PET scan eventually showed that the thyroid nodule was malignant and had spread to parts of my bones, especially around the right hip.
An X-ray confirmed that the tumor had encased the hip and eroded the bone supporting the implant.
My orthopaedic consultant explained that I would need revision surgery using a Proximal Femoral Endoprosthesis instead of the previous THR, but only after completing three to four cycles of chemotherapy.
I was referred to the Igbobi oncology team, who started chemotherapy the following week.
To date, I have completed four cycles.
My orthopaedic consultant has now given us the bill for the revision surgery and advised that we deposit the full amount into the hospital wallet within two weeks so the operation can proceed.
He plans to give the remaining two chemo cycles after surgery to clear any residual cancer cells.
Everything boils down to around 15 million naira.
