Last nite in Maputo, Mozambique, African Jazz had an incredible night, with Moreira Chonguica 20 year anniversary concert celebrating his debut album "The Journey aka MP1" which was originally released in 2005.. it was not just a concert, he retold the story of the last 20years, of his life, family, his route with his music and everything in-between. I am so proud to have become a part of that journey which began for me when I bought the album in 2012... The last track of the night,"The Light", iis the signature tune for my African Jazz radio show " Jazz and Conversations", the #1 African jazz radio show in Nigeria and possibly even on the African continent. Moreira, Obrigado my dear brother!!!

Moreira Chonguica last nite at the French Cultural Center, in Maputo, Mozambique. He performed (without a break) for nearly 4 hours, telling the story of his journey with the MP1 album "aka The Journey"... A truly brilliant night of innovation, performance and musical mastery by himself and his wonderful band. African Jazz had an incredible night last night... One of the absolute best concerts ever... Hands down!!
