ART 🎨, THE ARTIST, NATURE, COLLABORATIONS 💐!

This time last year, I had a salon art exhibition between 20th and 22nd, at the Iwalewa Gallery Of Art to mark my 50th and my comeback to my visual art practice I took a hiatus from.

This year feels so different, and recently, I have been feeling out of sorts.
Several challenges, disappointments, but thankful to God most importantly for life, and so many other blessings, including those I might not know.

This denim boubou/ kimono 👘 hybrid is a collaboration between Uche of Azach Ng and I.

Made from 2 of my old pairs of jeans 👖 and a dress, scraps of denim from clothes I made since I started my lifestyle label, with some new denim thrown in for good measure 😊.

COLLABORATIONS IN FASHION ✂️ ✨️

Throwback to the FashionEVO Show and Summit on the 18th of September during the Africa Creative Market ( ACM)

It was an enriching and pleasant experience participating at the curated FASHIONEVO POP-UP Boutique, meeting new people, re-establishing contact with those already known, learning new things, possibilities of future collaborations and accessorising the collections of 2 colleagues and friends.

I have known the Kola Kuddus and Kijipa Couture brands and their Creative Directors for decades.

It was a thing of joy to style their 'SANKOFA' and 'IREPE' collections with the Kenyan seed bead fringed neck pieces and Beampeh Leather Disk Bangles in different colours, shapes, textures and sizes.

This amazing exhibition ends in 3 days!

If you can, try to see it!

17 brilliant artists across age groups, including 3 guest artists, show about 70 very inspiring and beautiful works!

Each artist, as expected, shows their unique point of view in a rather telling way.

From ginormous sculptures to dainty miniatures across mediums and styles, you'll be captivated with what you see.

I promise you!

The exhibition is open between 4 pm and 8 pm daily at the Phoenix Towers at the Eko Atlantic.

There is also an artist talk tomorrow Thursday at 5 pm with 5 of the artists exhibiting.

You need to see those masterpieces!

The covid-19 season was such a strange time and many had to look for coping methods.

A friend was feeling down in the dumps, asked me to pose and I tried my best within the circumstances to cheer her up .

How did I do 😃 ? Please be kind!

If anyone knows of modelling gigs befitting older women wearing their natural hair low and who have several sprinkles of gray hair, let me know.
