Danfo Mædnéss
One busy morning in Lagos, a young woman boarded a crowded danfo bus heading to CMS. The fare was ₦450, so she handed the conductor a ₦500 note and waited for her ₦50 change.
After a few minutes, she asked for her change.
“Conductor, my ₦50 change nko?” she said.
The conductor laughed. “Madam, no change! ₦50 no be money.”
The woman became angry. “₦50 is my money. Give me my change!”
Soon, the whole bus was listening as both of them argued loudly. Passengers shook their heads while some laughed at the drama.
When the bus stopped, the conductor told her to come down, but she refused.
“I will not come down until I get my ₦50!” she declared.
A passenger finally stepped in and said, “Oga, just give her the change and let us go.”
Grumbling, the conductor searched his pocket and handed over the ₦50.
The woman smiled, collected her money, and stepped out of the bus.
As the danfo drove away, the conductor muttered, “Passengers today, chai!”
The woman laughed and said, “Small money, but my money!”
Moral: Never allow anyone to take what belongs to you, no matter how small it seems.
