Faith Or Ideology🕊️

There is a sweeping hurricane among youths going back to their religious roots (ATR). Many have queried Christianity beyond doubt - Probably they are right!

As much as this sounds pleasing to the ears, I doubt the real intentions and probe the knowledge-set thus:

Despite our inclinations by faith (belief in what has not been perceived or experienced); all religion is ideology based on 3 cardinal points:
1. Projection of good over evil
2. Conformity to certain norms
3. Discipline - to keep conformity in check

Now, you won't like the next thing I will say;

If for any reason you live your life the way you want without recourse to conforming to any known norms or the requisite discipline (esp of dos & don'ts) of your chosen religious path; then, you are into A DEEP FALSEHOOD!

For whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Hindi, or African Traditional Religionist, you need almost the same degree of discipline to conform to the norms of such religious values in their truest essence!

Methodical Flaws 📌

A Pastor/Motivational Speaker said: "There are no self-made men; all men were helped by God even in their ignorance"

Me: Do not diminish the power of hardwork with the implosion of religious sentiments. We all believe and love God; but, the mindset of the younger reader here must be cast in self-belief and self-efficacy before ever they can appreciate the position of God (where human efforts ends) in their lives.

The concept of self-made men epitomizes the triumph of intrinsic motivation to work hard to succeed in spite of no visibly material assistance from one's circle. It does not imply the implosion of an imaginary assistant from a supernatural.

God who created you cannot save you without you. You are a part of God; to depend on God without effort is already an auto-denial of God's help.

Youths must have confidence in themselves to succeed

Founder of Allen Foundation, a community-based organisation, Lekan Oluwayomi, 25, tells us about his accomplishments

What led to the creation of your foundation?

Allen Foundation came out of a deep passion and love for humanity. It began in 2017 through the LoveOut&Chill initiative, an initiative set up to promote the goal of the foundation – eradicating poverty through inspiration and charity. It was named after my dear brother, whom I lost recently.

What does it do?

Allen Foundation is a community-based organisation established to address social, economic and environmental challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African continent.

In what ways have you made impact?

Through the LoveOut&Chill initiative of the foundation which began in 2017, we have built the organisation to having over 100 volunteers and we have together imparted a lot to over 1,000 lives within the space of three years.

What are some of the challenges you have faced over the years?

They include access to limited resources to reach out to more people – resources such as human and money. Other challenges include limited collaborations and partnerships or support from bigger organisations and institutions.

In what ways has the foundation empowered people?

The second edition of our annual charity and networking event tagged &Chill2 was held on December 27, 2018 and had about 160 persons in attendance. The event in which the networking and conference session held was made successful through a team of volunteers consisting of about 80 people

Finland's new Prime Minister-elect Sanna Mirella Marin.
34-year-old Sanna Marin will soon be the world's youngest sitting prime minister after being selected by Finland's Social Democratic party to take over as the country's leader.

Marin's age and progressive politics, plus the fact she's a new mom, have prompted comparisons to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who is 39.
Other countries across the world have leaders in their 30s, such as Ukraine's Oleksiy Honcharuk (35) and North Korea's Kim Jong Un (35).

In world politics, youth appears to be having a moment.

At 34, Sanna Marin will soon become the world's youngest sitting prime minister after being selected by Finland's Social Democratic party to take over as leader following the resignation of Prime Minister Antti Rinne.

In recent years there has been a surge of politicians in their 30s winning leadership roles, including New Zealand's 39-year-old Prime Minister Jacina Ardern, Ukraine's 35-year-old Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, and El Salvador's 38-year-old President Nayib Bukele.

Tokyo governor pledges to hold 2020 Olympics ‘by all means’

The postponed Olympics must be held next year “by all means”, Tokyo’s governor said Wednesday, becoming the latest official to insist the event is feasible despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Yuriko Koike’s remarks, at an event hosted by Kyodo news agency, come after International Olympic Committee vice-president John Coates told AFP that the Games would go ahead in 2021 “with or without Covid”

“Athletes are going through much hardship due to the one-year delay given that their physical condition and motivation were targeted at this summer,” Koike said, according to an English translation of her remarks published by Kyodo.
“We have to go forward with the Games next summer by all means,” she added, at the corporate event for the news agency’s subscribers.

The city will “implement every possible measure” to ensure the safety of the event, Koike said.
