Artiste(s) Featured: Faouzia & John Legend
Vocal Prowess and Beats:
You know, i never met Faouzia before this song, but she delivered. Omorrr, That was ah-mazing!!! She delivered raw, powerful vocals in that song. Mehn!!! I could literally 'lick' her voice and then comes John Legend, the man himself. John Legend complements her with his soulful smoothness, creating a dynamic vocal duo with Faouzia. Both voices soar during the chorus, filled with emotional tension. I was melting...!!! Nice Beats too, with the Piano not overpowering their voices.
Song Meaning / Lyrical Depth:
To me, Minefields is a metaphor for the pain and risk of trying to be in a relationship that's risky for whatever reason. Could be that the person belongs someone else now, though you used to be together, or even some cultural, religious or other biases that makes the relationship almost impossible at that instant of time. The “minefields” represent emotional wounds and the dangerous terrain of going into that relationship or maybe even getting back together again. It’s about longing, regret, and the courage to cross emotional barriers. Indeed, A chillingly beautiful duet. The lyrical imagery is strong and relatable. The song feels like a conversation between two people on opposite sides of a heartbreak, both yearning but scared. It leaves you feeling emotionally heavy—in the best way.
