Here is one of those remarkable Olójò Festival moments that many people never get to see.

Olójò is bigger than the main procession, the beautiful outfits and the familiar faces. Across Ilé-Ifẹ̀, the entire city comes alive with different side attractions, street energy, performances and spontaneous moments that form part of the complete festival ecosystem.

For years of documenting Olójò, we have seen these bikers and stunt riders return again and again, showing up with the same energy, skill and passion. This year, even Trophy naturally became part of the visual story.

And this is where brands should begin to look deeper.

Imagine a future Olójò where a brand like Trophy intentionally supports this community, brands the experience, rewards the riders and helps turn an already existing attraction into a properly structured festival activation.

The glamour is important. The fashion is important. The royal moments are important. But so are the people, the streets, the sounds, the risks, the excitement and the communities that give the festival its real energy.

These are the stories that remain relevant long after the festival is over. You can return to them years later and they still tell you what Olójò actually felt like.

For creators documenting culture, sometimes the most valuable story is happening away from the main camera.

This is our reality. This is the Olójò experience. This is why we document beyond the obvious.

Before you see the King, sometimes you hear him. 👑📯

Meet one of the unmistakable sounds around His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR, Ooni of Ife — the Kákákí Ọba.

This particular man has served Kabiyesi for years, travelling far and wide with the Ooni and remaining a familiar presence at royal appearances. His consistency tells you just how important his assignment is.

When the Ooni is about to make a remarkable entrance, the Kákákí sounds. It is more than entertainment; historically, the long royal trumpet is associated with royalty, authority and the announcement of the presence or movement of a king. Research specifically documenting the Ooni's palace describes the Kákákí as being blown to herald the Ooni.

So next time you hear that unmistakable royal sound before Kabiyesi appears, look closely.

There is a man behind the sound.
A tradition behind the instrument.
And history being announced before your eyes.

Kákákí Ọba — announcing royalty before royalty arrives.

Èṣù Oòni chilling inside Ilé Nlá. 😎🔥
Èṣù Ìgbàlódé with the vibe!

Beyond the energy, there is a deeper story.

In Yorùbá spirituality and cosmology, Èṣù is not simply the “devil” as he has often been portrayed through later religious interpretations. Èṣù occupies a complex and important position as a divine messenger and mediator, closely associated with communication, choice, consequence, sacrifice and the movement of àṣẹ.

Scholars of Yorùbá religion describe Èṣù as a custodian of primordial àṣẹ, demanding awareness, sound judgement and responsibility in human action. He also plays an important role within the Ifá system, particularly in the relationship between divination, prescribed sacrifice and the fulfilment of spiritual instruction.

So when you encounter Èṣù within Yorùbá sacred tradition, look beyond the popular stereotypes. There is philosophy, responsibility and centuries of indigenous knowledge behind the symbolism.

REALITY IS THE NEW WAVE. BUT MAYBE WE HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR GENERATIONS.

From Chaos in the Ring to global livestream entertainment, audiences are proving again that they want real people, real competition, real emotion and real stories.

But before celebrity boxing, our festivals already had wrestling, strength contests, community rivalries, courtship traditions and moments where young men and women were seen, celebrated and sometimes found future partners.

So we ask our royal fathers and cultural custodians:

Where are those indigenous games? Where are the wrestling grounds? Where are the traditional competitions that once brought entire communities together?

This may be the time to bring them back, professionally, safely and authentically.

Not to copy the West, but to rediscover what was already ours.

Imagine discovering the next generation of fighters and personalities from our festivals and local communities, while properly documenting the history behind them.

That is why festivals need more than coverage.

They need archives. Storytelling. Livestreaming. Documentation that preserves originality while creating possibilities for the future.

Culture × Reality × Sport × Entertainment.

The next global format may already be living inside our traditions.

Document it right.
