Artist Laimdota Malle (Latvia) inside vol.7

For the past 5 years, Laimdota Malle has quietly but actively worked across varied media, including drawing, printing, sculpture, and animated images in order to create installations with a specific interest in questioning meanings of collective and personal experiences. Through her own experience and trauma, combined with the need to research, understand and collect, she creates metaphorical stories that reveal new kinds of landscapes and realities close to us. These fragmented landscapes persist in the liminal space and time between the real and fantasy. Using various techniques she is recording impressions and affects through copying on different surfaces and materialities, as well as recreating images in order to create a collection with pieces of everything that surrounds her, dedicated to the theme of vanishing, disappearance, and disintegration. Subject matter is explored through translucence, weightlessness and floating sensation combined with the embodiment, even carnality, thus drawing a unique, sensitive look at the impermanence and fragility of all people and things on the one hand, and the long-term impressions--memories, copies, dreams--they leave on the other.

Artworks from the drawing series:

2/3/4- ''How to move the giant'' are works from her childhood memories, asking questions about archetypes, while trying to flirt with the border of playful and horrifying. 2019. Pencil/paper

1/5 - "I miss you'' are works from photographs from missing children in Latvia. 2021. Pencil/paper

Artworks :

1.Title : Saturated
Tools : Graphic tablet (adobe photoshop)
The process behind '' Saturated '' was to simulate the feeling of suffocation and claustrophobia, the subject, in contrast with his build can't do anything about this tight space.

2. Detail from "Sturated"

3.Title : TheRun
I was influenced by a friend who kept saying it looks like attack on titan while making this artwork
But in retrospect i think this portrays the panic and fear of death or whatever could lead to it

Artist Anna Vereshchaka (UA)
Inside vol.7

"The concept of my series "Enamel", the structure of this series in a simple, concise and smooth texture of the enamel in combination with processed, fractional forms. Each work has a personality (one or more), which in fact combines these two textures, both technically and in semantic form. Individuals at work do not have a specific prototype, they can be anyone. Each person has its own complex shape and its own simple enamel. I wanted to show both the simplicity and complexity of man. all people are really simple and clear they all speak, see, they have arms, legs. We are all one species and in theory should communicate and understand freely. But the form shows their inner world and all its diversity."
