When the killing of Igbo people started in Kano, Lagos and other northern states like Jos and Benue in 1966, many Ndi Igbo never believed it did happen.
It started with the killing of Igbo military men and women before they took their madness to the civilian population. When I say Ndi Igbo, I mean every tribe in Eastern Nigeria and Anioma.
Lots of Ndi Igbo refused to comeback. They totally downplayed the level of hatred the Hausa Fulani and Yoruba had for them. Many were even killed by those they called friends. It was horrible.
The Yoruba never hesitated in joining Hausa Fulani to fight Ndi Igbo.
Today, the same thing that brewed in 1966 is brewing again. The hatred is piling up. The Yoruba has already started crippling Igbo business in Lagos. They even killed one igbo trader yesterday at Alaba market, sponsor by Reno Omokiri.
Ndi Igbo should trade with caution. We must prepare ourselves properly.
The Yoruba is showing signs that they will stand at the same spot they stood in 1967.
But this time, every man will get the sound right in his doorstep.
Never again will a people hide in trenches while others go to their normal business.
This is 2022 and not 1967.
