I made this portrait sometime in the year 2023. The client so much loved the portrait that she wished she had gone for a bigger size. This was a really interesting piece for me cos I felt like a sculptor when using thee strokes of my pencil to carve out the forms of my subject on paper😅. The piece was done using charcoal on a 16x20” sized chipboard.

Sometime in the year 2023, I was contacted by an old friend. Her husband’s birthday was coming up and she wanted to gift him something really special. The husband had lost every picture of his late mother and had just one old photograph left of her which he cherish so much. The photograph was beginning to spoil due to the fact that it’s a really old photograph. So, his wife which is an old friend of mine stole the photograph, gave it to me and with that old photograph, I made this portrait of the husband’s late mother. When the portrait was delivered to him, he broke into tears. It was one of the best birthday gifts he has ever gotten. The portrait was done using charcoal on a 10x12 inches sized chipboard.

In the year 2023, a young man contacted me to make a portrait of him. He wanted me to draw him cos he had visited a friend of his and saw the beautiful portrait I made for his friend and he wanted one for himself too. I enjoyed working on this portrait cos of his pose. It was both challenging and interesting. At the end, he loved the outcome and he hinged it with pride in his sitting room.
The portrait was done using charcoal on a 20x24inches chipboard.

Some days we wake up and feel so tired and discouraged to try again, sometimes life becomes boring cos it feels like we are moving in circles but when we actually fail, is when we stop trying. As far you have life, don’t stop trying.

“2019”
The very year I decided to pick Art as a career and make money off it. Before 2019, the last time I picked a pencil to draw was around 2011/2012 when I was still in High school drawing cartoons.
I didn’t know where or how to start but I started anyway. I took an exercise book and started making atleast one drawing everyday using any reference I find interesting. I was lost and had very little to no understanding of the elements and principles of art so, this made it really difficult & frustrating but still,It was very interesting to me. I kept practicing.
Consistent practice really pays so, don’t stop practicing consistently in whatever career you’ve chosen.🙂
I am so glad I stayed consistent or else I wouldn’t be where I am today. These are the drawings I made in the year 2019. Little beginning right?😅
