HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP QUIET?
A man is beaten, crying and begging for mercy…
Instead of compassion, a camera is brought out. He is mocked, humiliated, and threatened: “If the money is not paid, we will kill him.”
Women are taken from their homes or stopped on the road…
Assaulted. Dehumanized. Filmed.
Their pain is turned into a tool to extort huge sums from their families.
Families live in fear.
Parents cannot sleep.
Children are growing up in trauma.
This is not just a headline.
This is the daily reality in parts of Nigeria.
The painful question is:
Is the life of an ordinary citizen no longer valuable?
Has human dignity become so cheap?
Security is not a favor from the government — it is a responsibility.
Politics will come and go.
Power will change hands.
But the lives lost and the tears shed can never be replaced.
And as citizens, we also have a duty:
• Stop sharing videos that further humiliate victims.
• Stop turning tragedy into entertainment.
• Support one another.
• Speak up responsibly and demand accountability.
We are not asking for luxury.
We are asking for safety.
We are asking for justice.
We are asking to live without fear.
If not now, when?
If not us, who?
May God protect our land.
May God bring peace and restore dignity to our people.
Enough is enough.😭
