The technical adviser of Lubcon Nigeria Limited, Engr. Jani Ibrahim has called on the government to establish a Ministry for Micro and Small scale business enterprises to enhance access to finance.
Engr. Ibrahim gave the advice at the 30th years anniversary of the company and his birthday in Ilorin on Sunday, (8th, August 2021).
He said “it has become expedient for entrepreneurs to have access to finance through a broad based and sustainable platform in order to make Nigeria the preferred destination “
According to him, “Nigeria no longer enjoy the monopoly of targeted market”, as African Countries like South Africa, Ghana and other upwardly mobile countries are now broadening their market base.
Engr. Ibrahim, who harped on the need to sustain unity in the country, counseled entrepreneurs “not to give up” as challenges are necessary steps to success”.
No matter the challenges, don’t stop, keep pushing”, noting that, “the successes recorded so far by LUBCON was a product of tenacity and determination”, he noted.
He recalled that “we once had challenges of plastic supply which compelled us to restrategise. Today, we produce our own plastics; we supply plastics to other companies”.

The technical adviser revealed that, the organisation which started as a growing concern in Lagos on 8th of August, 1991 before relocating its head office to Ilorin, distributed 58 gallons of lubricant in the 90s which has grown to 200 million gallons in 2021.
Lubcon, he said, has registered his presence beyond Nigeria. “We are now in Ghana, Ethiopia and South Sudan.
In his presentation, former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Bayo Ojo said “Lubcon Group manifestly recognises the imperative of an articulated core corporate ideology and envisioned future in facing the challenges of a fast changing world”.
The Guest Lecturer, who spoke on “The Power of Vision and the enchanting success story of Lubcon group from its small beginning to an ICONIC corporate behemoth” admitted that “The company has an unequivocal commitment to excellence, adding that, “as a value -adding company, it has absolute integrity”.
“There is an organic and uncommon admirable courage of conviction on the part of the promoter; there is the notable centrality of research and development in its operation and growth process which accounts for its continuous renewal,” he submitted.
Meanwhile, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq congratulated Engr. Ibrahim on his birthday anniversary, praying God to grant him better years ahead in the service of humanity.
The governor described the industrialist as a “fine gentleman, peace builder and a man of middle course who is popular for always been on the side of conciliation”.
“He is a man who truly believes in the great potentials of Kwara State and its people. He has invested his resources to build industries and employed Kwarans in various capacities”.
