DR. KWANDE S. DAWAL: HEALTH INSURANCE KEY TO REDUCING OUT-OF-POCKET HEALTHCARE COSTS IN PLATEAU STATE

The Director General of the Plateau State Contributory Health Management Agency (PLASCHEMA), Dr. Kwande Solomon Dawal, has emphasized the importance of health insurance in reducing out-of-pocket payments as key steps toward improving access to quality healthcare in the state.

He made the remarks during the State Performance Review on Government Ownership and Sustainability, where stakeholders assessed the achievements of state government health programmes and reviewed ongoing strategies aimed at optimizing and integrating the health workforce.

The review also provided a platform for examining current progress in strengthening the health sector and ensuring that government-owned health initiatives remain sustainable and effective.

PLASCHEMA through its visionary Director General, highlighted the need for stronger commitment to health financing reforms that can reduce the financial burden on citizens and further support universal health coverage across Plateau State.

Most profoundly, Dr.Dawal Humphrey-Kwande , attributes the successes of health financing to the unwavering support the agency continues to receive under "The Time Is Now" led administration of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and other health stakeholders.

Plateau State Unveils 2025 Eye Health Policy to Boost Universal Eye Care.

The Plateau State Government has unveiled its Eye Health Policy 2026, aimed at achieving universal eye health and strengthening access to quality eye care services across all levels of healthcare delivery in the state.

The policy, which was launched yesterday, is designed to provide a clear framework for collective action among government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders in scaling up eye care services and advancing universal health coverage.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Baamlong , led the launch of the policy alongside the Director General of the Plateau State Contributory Health Management Agency (PLASCHEMA), Dr. Dawal Humphrey-Kwande , also present at the event were Sightsavers, Christian Blind Mission, and other critical stakeholders in the health sector.

In his goodwill, Dr. Dawal reaffirmed PLASCHEMA’s commitment to the effective implementation of the policy and called for stronger collaboration from relevant health stakeholders to ensure that the drive toward universal health coverage succeeds and that no one is left behind.

The unveiling marks a significant step in Plateau State’s efforts to improve eye health outcomes and expand equitable access to essential health services for the Plateau populace.

As Nigeria commemorates 27 years of unbroken democracy, I am delighted to extend my warmest felicitations to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Felix Ngonung, and the esteemed citizens of Pankshin Local Government Area in Plateau State, under the distinguished leadership of His Excellency, Bar. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, as well as the entire Nigerian populace on this significant milestone in our nation's political history.

The imperative of good governance and the dividends of democracy has never been more pressing, underscoring the importance of supporting, praying for, and encouraging our leaders to achieve remarkable success in governance.

It’s extremely heartbreaking and devastating seeing Fulani terrorist rapping and humiliating women on Camera.💔💔💔

Over the years, Nigerians have become acquainted with brutal pictures of slain women, children and even babies in their mother’s womb. 😭😭
Now the terror is spreading pictures of humiliation of women. How evil.🖤

However, it is more evil not to speak up against this atrocities because of selfish interest and political gain.

No one will be safe from the prevailing issues if it’s not tackled.
