Mallam Sulaiman: From Second‑Hand Clothes Vendor to Empire Builder

Visual Hues unveils the struggles of Sulaiman a bright, knowledge‑hungry young man who longed to further his education. But with little financial support and few opportunities from a less privileged home, he had to drop out and turn to business, selling second‑hand clothes popularly known as “Okrika” or “Gwanjo”.

Today, his story is about more than survival. Many now benefit from his wisdom, as he delivers everyday lectures three times a day with people arriving in batches to learn, even while he runs his business. He has groomed countless individuals who are now self‑reliant and thriving.

Determined that his children would not face the same struggles he endured, Sulaiman has ensured they receive the education he missed. Today, four of his children are in university, on the verge of graduation.
