PRESS BRIEFING BY YANDANG YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CONGRESS (YYDC) ON THE BETRAYAL OF YANDANG YOUTHS BY PDP TREASURER, TARABA STATE HON. AHMADU DANLADI SOKE AND THE CALL FOR HIS REMOVAL
The Yandang Youths wish to express their deep disappointment with the conduct of Hon. Danladi Ahmadu, also known as Soke, who has continually used his political office to work against the interests of our people. Despite the unwavering loyalty the Yandang people have consistently shown to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Ahmadu has chosen a path of division, undermining both the progress of our community and the unity of the party.
For years, the Yandang people have been a reliable backbone of the PDP’s success in Taraba State, voting them masse and supporting the party's agenda. However, it has become increasingly clear that Hon. Ahmadu no longer shares in our vision for collective progress. His opposition to the candidacy of Governor Agbu Kefas during the 2023 general elections was not only a betrayal of the PDP’s democratic process but also a blatant rejection of the hopes and aspirations of the Yandang community.
Adding insult to injury, Hon. Ahmadu, who hails from Donadda Ward, a predominantly Yandang area, has failed to secure support for the PDP in his own backyard. The losses suffered by the PDP in both the governorship and senate elections within his ward are a clear reflection of his inability to lead or rally the people he claims to represent. It is evident that his interests lie elsewhere, and not with the well-being of the Yandang people.
Furthermore, Hon. Ahmadu’s actions stand in direct opposition to the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas, who has worked tirelessly to heal divisions within the PDP and foster unity across all regions and ethnic groups in Taraba State. While the governor has dedicated himself to reconciling differences within the party, Hon. Ahmadu has sought to deepen these divides, exploiting ethnic tensions and creating a rift between the Yandang people and the wider political landscape.
His action is not just a gross misconduct, but an outright abuse of power. It reeks of political desperation, showing Hon. Soke Danladi Ahmadu's willingness to ruin the reputation of anyone standing in his way. His misuse of his position to settle personal scores sets a dangerous precedent to the Yandang Youths in Taraba State. His actions are unconstitutional, uncivilized, and a direct assault on democratic principles. He has not only undermined the PDP’s constitution but has also flagrantly violated the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by targeting an individual Hon. Dallas Edward for personal reasons that have no connection to the PDP or the PDP 100% Loyal Group. Compelling the PDP Loyal group to issue him suspension letter. Also, in a leaked suspension letter that was withheld by Hon. Soke Danladi from PDP Chairman Donnada Ward, Lau LGA Mr. Ayuba Nasamu. The Yandang Youth Development Congress (YYDC) has gotten it through the backdoor that Hon Danladi Soke directed the Ward Chairman of Donnada Ward to issue yet another suspension letter to Hon. Dallas Edward Gurabi, for his personal interest this time attempting to remove him from the PDP at the ward level. This blatant abuse of power will not be tolerated by the Yandang Youths.
It is important to set the record straight: Hon. Ahmadu is not a jenjo man. He is Gomu by tribe, from Lau, and his recent attempts to attach himself politically to the noble Jenjo people are nothing more than a strategy for personal gain. The Jenjo community, which has always been a beacon of peace and cooperation, enjoys a long-standing and harmonious relationship with the Yandang people. Hon. Ahmadu’s attempts to distort this relationship for his own ends are not only false but also dangerous to the unity we have built over the years.
In light of these concerns, we, the Yandang Youths, are calling for the immediate removal of Hon. Danladi Ahmadu from any position of influence within the PDP. His actions are a threat to the unity of the party and the progress of Taraba State. We cannot stand by while someone in his position continues to act in ways that harm both our community and the PDP as a whole.
We believe that the PDP is a party that stands for unity, development, and the shared progress of all people, regardless of ethnicity or background. Hon. Ahmadu’s conduct is in stark contrast to these values, and for the sake of party unity and the future of our great state, his removal is both necessary and urgent.
The Yandang Youths remain committed to supporting Governor Agbu Kefas and the PDP’s vision for a stronger, more united Taraba State. We refuse to allow the selfish actions of a few to derail the tremendous progress we have made. Our loyalty to the PDP is unwavering, and we will continue to stand for what is right.
Let us remain focused on the task ahead, united in our resolve to build a better future for all.
